Each of my children attend a private school for part-time in-school learning and part-time cyber school. It’s important as parents that we provide our children with educational toys, games, and arts & craft projects that are fun and spark their creative learning. All need to be affordable, easy-to-use, and educational in one way or another. The S.T.E.A.M. kits from Griddly Games are perfect for my kids.

Earlier this year I was introduced to Griddly Games who makes a line of STEM and STEAM Kits for kids! You can check out my previous reviews on the Just Add Sun and the Just Add Egg kits that we featured on the TwoClassyChics blog. Both kits were a huge success with my kids!

Just Add Sugar STEM Kit from Griddly Games

Today we’re featuring the Just Add Sugar Science and Art Kit from Griddly Games. The kit is for children ages 8 and up, parental guidance required. You can use this kit to make more than 10 science and art activities like crystals, rock candies, homemade sugar cubes, etc. Once you’re done use the kit to make your own homemade soap for clean-up!

This kit helps kids to discover chemical reactions, supersaturation, and crystallization. It includes: instructional booklet, cardstock, 3 bottles food coloring, silicone tray, paint, paint brush, soap base, syringe, 3 hanks of string, 3 candy sticks, and cord. You’ll need to add additional supplies, many of which you already have in your home!

Instruction booklet includes the directions to make the following projects: Sugar Crystals, Sugar Rainbow Glass, Sugar Cubes, Sugar Cube Absorption, Ice Worm Pond, Sugar Necklace, Make Your Own Soap, Decoupage Yarn Art, Sugar Paper Mache, Edible Play Dough, Body Scrub, Banana Sugar Scrub, Feed Your Flowers, How to Make Natural Fly Strip, and Super Tie-Dye Shirts. There’s a lot to choose from!

My children love the STEM and STEAM Kits from Griddly Games and have done several of them. They teach kids all kinds of educational things: How to follow directions, reading & spelling, math, chemistry, art, science, etc. Kids learn all kinds of new skills while having fun completing the projects. Older chilren can do a majority of the projects on their own while younger children will need adult assistance.

One of the easiest projects to make is the brown sugar body scrub. My daughter really enjoyed making that! All of us girls used it to slough off the dead skin on our hands and feet. Worked great! My son enjoyed making the edible play dough which is made with peanut butter and a few other ingredients you already have. Really a fun kit for the kids!

    Another product I liked of Griddly is their Just Add Fruits and Veggies. It says you can use your old fruits and veggies for the experiments, rather than throwing them out or using good food. My favorite item, however, is the Just Add Sun kit.

    We just did the Just Add Sun kit which was really fun. I would also like to try the Just Add Soap kit.
