Our boy Romeo is one spoiled kitty and he deserves it! We rescued him when he was 3 months old and instantly fell in-love with him. We try to give him the best foods, treats, toys, and of course LOVE. He’s a very important member in our family and is treated like our own child. He wants for nothing and is the KING of our castle.

Romeo can be picky about his food. He likes everything at room temperature or warmed up. He won’t eat cold leftovers from the refrigerator unless we warm them up. He likes a lot of gravy in his wet food. He’ll slurp up all of the liquid first and then eat the solid portions last. Taste is important too. He’s not afraid to stick his nose up to something he doesn’t like no matter how hungry he may be.

Purina Friskies lil’ grillers are a favorite with Romeo. They’re not meant to replace your cat’s regular food but to complement whatever you feed them. They come in 4 different flavors. Romeo’s three favorites are:

Seared Cuts with Turkey in Gravy
Seared Cuts with Ocean Fish in Gravy
Seared Cuts with Chicken in Gravy

We keep dry food in his feeder and he can munch on that any time he wants. In the morning he gets a little bit of wet (canned) food and at bedtime he gets a little more. With his bedtime feeding we open a pouch of the lil’ grillers and pour it on top of 2 tablespoons of his normal wet food. Oh my gosh, he comes running for it. He’ll run like the bionic cat through the entire house to get to his dish for his bedtime feeding. It’s hysterical.

If you don’t feed your cat wet food you can certainly pour it on top of dry food or feed it all on its own. It doesn’t have to be mixed with anything. The packet states that you can feed up to 1 packet a day to an adult, average sized cat. Hence, our boy gets it once a day.

Last month I picked up a bag of Whisker City Natural Catnip for our boy. It was sitting on the shelf at the pet store with at least a dozen other brands. What caught my eye was the packaging where it states that it’s ALL NATURAL and it made with North American Catnip. I’m all about natural and all about products made in the U.S.A.

There are no fillers! It’s made solely with catnip flowers and leaves. Nothing else. To use it…place some between your fingers and gently rub together to release the aroma. You can then sprinkle it on your cat’s toys, place it in refillable toys, or place a little bit onto the floor. We use it in toys and we will sprinkle the nip on his 3 scratch posts to keep encouraging him to use his posts when he feels the need to scratch.

We opted to NOT declaw our boy. He goes in to have his claws trimmed every 3-4 weeks. To keep him from clawing up items in our home we strategically placed 3 scratching posts in different rooms. We trained him to ONLY scratch those posts by sprinkling the nip on them. It works perfectly for that. His rewards for following his training!

One of the things I like about this particular nip (besides the things I’ve already states) is that you don’t find large, stuck-together chunks in the package. As soon as you open the package you get a good whiff of the fragrance. Strong, but not over-powering. This is what attracts your kitty to it. You can tell by the color, fragrance and consistency of the product that it’s high-quality. As a real bonus, it’s affordable!
