Companion Cat Pet Grooming Brush

Companion Cat Pet Grooming BrushIf you own a cat you already know how hard it is to keep their coats groomed. Our boy Romeo used to fight us tooth-and-nail when it came to getting his hair (fur) brushed. He hated it. I thought it was just a “cat thing” until I realized I was using the wrong brush!

Just like people…they can have sensitive skin. They don’t want sharp, metal bristles scraping their skin. They don’t want you brushing hard to get the tangles out. They want it to be a pleasant and relaxing experience. They’re just like us!

Companion Cat Pet Grooming Brush

For the past few months I’ve been experimenting with grooming brushes and finally found one that Romeo enjoys. It’s made by Companion. It doesn’t have metal bristles and it’s easy to clean. After each grooming session I can easily pull out the collected hair and toss it away. The handle is ergonically correct, so I can sit and brush his hair for hours without it hurting my hands.

The first 2-3 times I used it on Romeo he wasn’t too fond of it due to past experiences. Once he was able to see that it was different, he learned to lay there and relax. Now it’s like getting a nice massage! He’ll fall asleep a few minutes after I start grooming him. A win-win! Grooming is an important part in keeping your cat healthy and happy (plus, it cuts down on fur balls).

You can find all kinds of different cat grooming brushes out in the retail marketplace. I’m no expert or pet professional, but I can honestly tell you that our boy hated the ones with metal and sharp bristles. I like the size of this brush too…I can pack it in our bag when traveling with our boy. Yes, he sometimes takes road trips along with us.

This sounds like a good brush to add to the brushes my son already has in his home. Each of them have a different function and his cats enjoy them in a different way.

  2. I am so adding this to my Amazon wishlist. I need a new brush for my cats and this one sounds super good and not painful thanks for sharing.

  3. I would like to get one of these. The ones with metal teeth so hurt.

  4. Having 3 long haired cats, I am always in the market for good grooming tools. I am impressed by how much your cat enjoys this brush. One I need to try.
