My boyfriend and I have a total of three cats: Skittles, Duke and Horatio. I love my cats dearly but boy do I hate cleaning their litter boxes. With three cats, I have to scoop up the litter box every day…sometimes twice a day! It amazes me how much they use each litter box (we have three!). I am very particular about the litter that I use, so I was pretty excited to try Cat’s Pride. I saw the commercials with Katherine Heigle, so I thought this was going to be a great product to use. Of all the different types of Fresh & Light Cat’s Pride litter, I was able to try two: Ultimate Care Scented and Ultimate Care Unscented Hypoallergenic.
I’m really glad that I was able to try the litter. Although it is not my favorite, it seemed to work incredibly well for having three cats (although I would only recommend the use of this product if you only have one cat). The scented litter was perfect for Horatio’s litter box (he’s in his own room during the day away from our other cats because he’s the most mischievous of the bunch). And if we only had Horatio, I would use the litter ALL the time. The unscented litter was used for Duke and Skittles (Duke HATES scented litter and refuses to use it…he’ll poop right outside if he suspects scented litter), although I would only ever use unscented if I only had one cat.
Cat’s Pride is probably the best litter when it comes to clumping. It is incredibly easy to clean the litter box and it’s true that after using Cat’s Pride, you won’t have to clean out your litter box as much as before…and it’s all because of the easy clean-up. The scented litter really helps to “mask” the smell of cats which I loved using in Horatio’s room, especially because it’s only him and I’d hate for him to have to smell himself all the time. The cats really responded to the new litter as well. Out of the two boxes for Duke and Skittles (we emptied BOTH boxes and poured Cat’s Pride in one and a different litter in the other), they used Cat’s Pride over the other box.
Although a bit more expensive, I really like the concept of light weight cat litter. I’m pretty petite, so it’s nice to not have to carry a 20-pound box, bag or container of litter to fill up the box. And the lightweight litter seems to last a long time. The only thing that I wasn’t a fan of with Cat’s pride is the “dust” when cleaning the box. Although Cat’s Pride states that its litter is dust-free, I find it to be incredibly dusty when cleaning out the litter box. But other than the dusty cleanup, I really liked using Cat’s Pride and will continue to use it for Horatio’s room (he really likes it too).

Our dog Nellari is part Siberian Husky and part Pit Bull. We adopted her when she was 8 weeks old and she’s now approaching the age of 8 years. A few days after we received this product we started putting some of Nellari’s dry food into it once a day. The first few times she gave it a few sniffs and would walk away. However, once my husband demonstrated things to her and showed her how fun it would be to get her food out of this dish, she caught on pretty quickly.
We use it as a fun game/toy with her and once a day, we’ll put her dry food into it. It keeps her busy for about 20 minutes until she has the bowl emptied and all of her food eaten. I like that it gives her something to do and it gives her a little bit of exercise at the same time.
