Game Play:

Pick a player to keep score. The youngest player will go first to roll the dice and then players take turns rolling, play passing to the left. Make sure all players are ready before the dice are rolled because everyone plays at the same time and speed matters!

First player selects a category from a card and places it on the table. The yellow side has easier topics, the pink side is harder. The points are the same no matter which side you select. Roll the order die to determine the position of the letters.

Player rolls the dice onto the table. Turn the timer. Play begins immediately as everyone looks at the dice and tries to find words that match the letters. Make sure you match the words to the dice that indicates the 1st, 2nd, or last letter.

Simply yell out your word and take the matching die before the timer runs out. Make sure that when you take the dice, you keep the same letter up since this shows your points. Once the time is up or all the dice are gone, calculate the points based on the numbers on the letter dice. That is your score for the round. The player to the left starts another round by rolling again and play continues until you have a player reach 50 points.

The included instruction sheet comes with game variations that you can incorporate to mix things up and to always keep things interesting. This is one of those games that game play is never the same thing twice!

I really don’t know who enjoyed playing the game more. The older kids or the adults? Everyone really enjoyed the game! There was constant laughing the entire time it was being played. It really gets you thinking and keeps you on your toes. I think it’s great for the older kids to help with their spelling and reading while making learning fun.

Strategies for Improving Your Online Poker Performance

Strategies for Improving Your Online Poker Performance

Strategies for Improving Your Online Poker PerformanceTo gain the most from your online poker playing experience it is always good to consider ways that you can improve your performance. These do not have to be complicated numerical strategies that require a degree in maths to understand but can be simple things such as eating the right foods to stay alert. So, next time you are playing online poker and competing in tournaments with Blitz Poker, think about what you can be doing to improve your performance.

Diet

Diet plays an important part in performance whether it is in our job or while playing sports at the weekend. It not only helps with physical activities but also with those that require brainpower. You can make the right decisions when you have ingested the right foods in preparation. Okay, many people only consider this necessary when taking part in say a professional online poker tournament, but it can improve our success rate, and therefore our experience, whatever the reason for us playing the game.

So, here is a list of foods that will help improve your poker performance:

Avocados, beans, blueberries, broccoli, dark chocolate, kale, pumpkin seeds, salmon, spinach, turmeric, and walnuts.

Leafy greens, fatty fish, and nuts are all foods to consider.

Coffee and red wine are seen as good for the brain. So, if you playing first thing in the morning, it is coffee you should start with. Whereas, if you are sharing your online poker experience with a loved one, then it is a bottle of red wine that you should be sharing. In moderation, of course, not to end up hampering your performance.

Become a Good Actor or Actress

Learn how to bluff your opponents. Studying opponents and keeping a straight face is only a part of learning how to bluff. In a live poker game, you will need to think about the speed of play and how your decisions look to others. For instance, are your adding to your selection of cards because you are desperately seeking a good card?

Know the Winning Hands

It is important to know more than the first few winning poker hands. You should know the full list of them. Okay, a single pair is not likely to win often but it is better than just relying on a high card to see you through. We should not place too much significance on just one ace. It is combinations of the right cards that count. There are lots of places online you can look that tell you the odds on certain combinations of cards appearing.

Playing Regularly

By playing regularly you will invariably improve your poker performance. You will develop an instinct for making the right decisions. You will begin to learn how other players think and so what their likely actions and cards are likely to be as a result of those actions. Players start to develop something of a poker mind. Even those not mathematically minded in the first instance.

Numeracy Skills

It is never a bad idea to polish up your numeracy skills. This can simply be adding up in your head at every opportunity rather than reaching for the nearest calculator, be it a portable one or part of your phone. The other way around, playing online poker can improve our numeracy skills for use in everyday life or further education.

Learn to Relax

It is still possible to stay alert when you are relaxed. An anxious player does not make for a good poker player. A calm demeanor will help us to think clearly and make the right decisions in terms of adding to our cards and knowing the best time to fold and quit while we are ahead, as the expression goes.

To help you relax you can try deep breathing, music or art therapy, meditation, or aromatherapy.

So, consider the above when it comes to improving your online poker performance.
