Kid’s Craft Project Painted Easter Bunny Seashells

Kid’s Craft Project Painted Easter Bunny Seashells

Last year we started sharing with all of you some frugal craft project ideas that utilize found objects like river rocks and seashells. Some of the designs we’ve featured included Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Spring and Summer themes. All of these craft projects are fun to make, are inexpensive to do and even the older kids can make them.

If you enjoy painting on seashells or crafting with seashells…you’ll find over 70+ seashell craft projects right here on the Two Classy Chics blog! We will be sharing more seashell craft projects in the future too!

Kid's Craft Project - Painted Easter Bunny Seashells

Today’s craft project is on how to make an adorable Easter Bunny Rabbit using seashells! You’ll need one large clam shells and two smaller oval-shaped seashells to make each of the bunnies. Our large clam shells measure approx. 5″ to 7″ in width and our oval-shaped barnacle seashells are approx. 1 3/4″ to 2″ long. Once completed, they look super cute decorating your front porch, your deck area or place them out in the yard. An adult will need to do the gluing process, but the kids can do all of the painting!

Large Clean & Dry Clam Shells
Oval-Shaped Barnacle Seashells
White, Black, Medium Pink and Light Pink Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paint Palette
Newspaper and Paper Towels
Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer – Glossy Finish
E-6000 Adhesive Glue

Lay newspaper down on your work surface. Have an adult glue the two small oval-shaped seashells onto the large clam shell using E-6000 adhesive. They will form the bunny’s ears. Let them dry overnight.

Use white acrylic craft paint to add 2 coats of paint on the outside of the large clam shell and on the inside and outside of the two ears. (Our barnacle shells were originally black, we opted to paint both the inside and outside of each shell with white paint).

Once your white base coat has completely dried, it’s time to add the facial features. Use black acrylic paint to add the two eyes and the whiskers. Use medium pink paint to add the triangular-shaped nose. Use light pink paint to make the inner ears. Let dry for approximately 30 minutes. Use white paint and dot the center of each eye. Let dry for at least 1 hour before proceeding.

Lay two sheets of newspaper down outside on the ground. Place your shells on top. Lightly spray a coat of clear acrylic sealer on top. Wait one hour and then spray on a second coat. Let dry overnight. Your seashells are now ready to be displayed indoors or out! Make sure you add the sealer to protect the painted finish!

Happy Easter 2017

Happy Easter 2017

Happy EasterI wanted to take a few minutes out of my day to wish all of the writers and readers of the Two Classy Chics blog a Happy Easter! Today we’ll be hosting Easter dinner at our home for the family and the kids will be going on an egg hunt in my backyard after dinner. My husband and I hid 75 real and plastic eggs for them to find and we made each of them a beautiful Easter basket to take home with them.

I love the Easter holiday and on some years…Easter will actually fall on my wedding anniversary which we just celebrated a couple of days ago. It’s hard to believe but my husband and I have been married for 32 wonderful years! I married my best friend (hubby) when I was 18 1/2 years old and I knew at a very early age that he was the man for me!

We started off Easter as we always do by attending a sunrise Mass at church. It love attending church services on the various holidays throughout the year. Although we’re regular church go’ers, it’s always much more special during Christmas and Easter to attend.

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys the holiday with their loved ones, family and friends. We’ll see you all here on the blog tomorrow. Enjoy your Easter Sunday and please…get offline and enjoy some time away from the computer today! The internet, your email, your blogs and the giveaways will all be here tomorrow! Today is about spending some special time with those you love. #JustSaying
