Looking for an easy-to-make Autumn Fall arts and craft project? If so, we have one for you today! These designs can be painted onto seashells, smooth river rocks, ceramic tiles, wood slices and other inexpensive surfaces. We painted the Doodling ZenTangle Zen Tangle designs onto seashells.

Always wash your surface in warm soapy water and let air dry overnight. You need to remove dirt, sand, debris, etc.
Base coat each seashells with 2 light coats of white acrylic craft paint. Base coating allows all of the other colors that you’ll apply on top to be more vivid. I like to use a paint brush and white acrylic craft paint for base coating. Let dry until the paint is no longer tacky.
I used a pack of BETEM Acrylic Paint Markers to do all of the patchwork colored squares and sections. These markers contain acrylic paint and have dual-ended tips. They don’t require priming, no drippy paint messes and no foul odors. Plus, they dry quickly. I purchase them from Amazon for a great price! Totally affordable!
You want to use a fine tip BLACK Acrylic Paint Marker to doodle designs inside each of the patchwork sections. You can do any type of design that you like. Once you have the section done…outline it in black. I elected to use all FALL colors in my patchwork which I think came out really nice. Reds, oranges, gold, browns, beige, dark burgundy, yellow, etc, work nicely.
Once all of the paint has dried you need to seal in the design. I like to brush-on 2 light coats of Clear Mod Podge Sealer using a foam brush. Allow for 30-40 minutes of drying time between coats. It goes on white but will dry crystal clear.
