I collect vintage and modern brooches and pins that are in a coastal beach theme. I probably have 50 or so in my collection with the majority of them being vintage. I really enjoy the dolphins, mermaids, whales, seahorses, starfish, seashells and other motifs that I’ve collected over the years. Some are just pins while others are a combination of a pin/enhancer for a necklace. Really love the combination pieces!

Normally my brooches and pins sit in a special anti-tarnish jewelry box only to be seen by me. However, last month I started looking for unique ways to display a few of them throughout my home. Here’s three of the ways that I’ve been displaying them.

1. Throw Pillows – I pinned several onto one of my throw pillows that I keep on a chair in our master bedroom. They look so pretty on that decorative pillow. I can change them out as my mood changes.
2. Plant Hangers – I have 9 hanging plants throughout our home. I took one pin and attached it to the rope hanger on each plant to add a little bit of decoration.
3. Curtain Tie-Backs – Looking to jazz-up those curtain tie-backs? Add a beautiful brooch or pin to the tie-back to add some pizzazz.
You can incorporate your brooches and pins into your home decor many different ways! Attach them to your napkin rings to add some sparkle to your dinning room table. Perfect for special holidays and dinning with family and friends. They’re a great way to add some bling to your favorite handbag or scarves. Get creative and get them out of the jewelry box and onto display!
