Easy-to-Make Mussel Shells Snowman Christmas Ornaments

Easy-to-Make Mussel Shells Snowman Christmas OrnamentsThese adorable snowman Christmas tree ornaments are easy-to-make! You don’t have to be a professional artist or crafter to make them. They’re made using clean Mussel Shells – Seashells. You’ll need just a few basic supplies and you can make several of them in one afternoon. Let’s get started on this holiday craft project.

Easy-to-Make Mussel Shells Snowman Christmas Ornaments

Clean Mussel Shells Seashells
Blue and White Acrylic Craft Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Pack of Snowman Rub-on Transfers
Clear Fishing Line (to make hanging strings)
Hot Glue Gun or Craft Glue
Scissors

Paint 70% of the inside of the Mussel Shell with blue acrylic craft paint. We had to use 2 coats of paint to get the coverage needed with 30 minutes of drying time between coats. Paint 30% of the inside of the seashell with white acrylic craft paint. Again, 2 coats of paint were needed. Let thoroughly dry (1-2 hours).

If you want to speed up the drying process…turn a desk fan or tabletop fan on low speed. Have it pointed towards the seashells. It really speeds up the paint drying time.

Rub-on Snowman Transfers come in a pack. You can find them on Amazon and at local craft supply stores. Dollar Tree often sells rub-on transfers too! Use scissors to cut out the transfers that you want to use. Follow the instructions on the pack to transfer the design onto the seashell. See my photograph for ideas.

Cut a 6″ long piece of clear fishing line. Knot the two ends together to form a loop. Use a dab of craft glue or hot glue to adhere it to the top of the Mussel Shell. Let dry. You now have a cute coastal and beach themed Christmas tree ornament.
