My Big Wimmelbook—Diggers at Work!

Wimmelbooks originated in Germany decades ago and have become a worldwide sensation with children (and adults!) everywhere. They provide hours of seek-and-find, hands-on learning and fun for kids ages 2 to 5 to explore animals, professions, locations, and more. My Big Wimmelbook—Diggers at Work

We received the My Big Wimmelbook – Diggers at Work! by Max Walther. It’s an over-sized board book, so it’s perfect for kids ages 2 to 5. It’s packed with look-and-find fun, allowing the kid to be the storyteller. The illustrations in Diggers at Work! invite kids (and parents) to imagine what’s happening as a hardworking construction crew and their digging machines tear down buildings, shovel dirt, move scrap, and more. It’s the first Wimmelbook to include a spread of illustrated diagrams, helping imaginative learners identify buckets, cabs, engines and more!

My god-son is 4 years old and loves books. At this age we ONLY purchase board books for him. Another thing he loves is diggers. The bigger, the better! I sat down with him last weekend during our sleepover to read Diggers at Work! and he loved it! He enjoyed flipping through all of the pages and pointing out the names of construction equipment he recognized. The ones he didn’t…he asked and learned about new ones.

One thing he really liked was the diagram of the Diggers in the back of the book. Those diagrams teach kids different parts of the Diggers like: Track, Rollers, Cab, Engine, Counterweight, Steering Wheel, Teeth, Links, Exhaust Pipes, Cylinders, Boom, Bucket, etc. He enjoys learning new things and this was right up his alley!

My Big Wimmelbook – Diggers at Work!  would make the perfect Christmas, holiday, birthday, back-to-preschool, etc. gift for that young one on your gift-giving list. We’ve given it a big 2-thumbs up!!!
