Betem Dual Tip Acrylic Paint Pens for Painting Seashells

Hand Painted Pennsylvania Themed SeashellsOne of the hottest arts and craft trends has been rock painting and seashell painting for the past couple of years. I admit, I’ve been painting on seashells and clam shells for the past 15+ years. I love exploring my creativity painting on shells! I use the seashells to decorate inside and outside of my home. Not only that, I leave my painted designs everywhere I go…for others to find them. Yes, a seashell treasure hunt!

Love to paint on shells? You’ll find 100+ painted seashell designs on the TwoClassyChics blog!

You can use acrylic paint pens to decorate your painted shells. I personally like to paint the entire seashell with traditional acrylic paint that comes in a bottle with a paint brush. Once the background has dried I get busy decorating them with Acrylic Paint Pens and Markers.

From Amazon you can find a slew of different brands available. Some are quite pricey at $50 a package while others are around $10.00 per pack. I’ve tried the cheap ones and the more expensive ones. With that said, I really like these moderately priced ones BETEM Acrylic Paint Markers which have dual tips. A medium tip and on the other end a fine tip in the same color. They’re water-based pigment markers made specifically for this type of artwork.

The pack that I buy has 24 different colors in it. Beautiful colors…not junky colors that you’ll never use. You’ll find the basics and pastels. They range in price from $14.00 to $20.00 per pack. They sell larger sized packs too!

Why do I love them? They feature upgraded cotton nibs. They’re great for dispensing the paint! No clumping, dripping, leaking, etc. Plus, you don’t have to “prime” these paint pens! The paint immediately flows from the tip. You can press lightly for light coverage and then if you want darker or deeper coverage go over that same area 2-3 times. Another bonus…these paints dry faster than other brands! I don’t have to sit around for 24 hours waiting for the paint to dry!!!
