Make Ahead Meals Zucchini Parmesan with Beef and BaconOver the past 10 years I’ve shared hundreds of make ahead meals recipes on the TwoClassyChics blog. They save me time, money, and stress! If I’m going to be cooking, I my as well make 2-3 meals at a time. Right? Right!

A few weeks ago a reader asked me about the containers that I use for freezing all of my make ahead meals. Well, to be honest, I use multiple types from several different brands. I have round, square, and rectangular shapes. They’re also in different sizes. You will need a variety on hand.

When I purchase my containers I look for ones that are reusable, not the one-time use. I like the lids to be easy to snap on and off. Futhermore, I like ones that are stackable. I do a lot of stacking in my upright freezer!

What don’t I use? I don’t use disposables, aluminum foil flimsy containers, nor silicone. Why? I don’t like them.

You can buy Make Ahead Meals Freezer Containers at most stores that sell kitchen goods. However, I find the best prices on them at Amazon, so that’s where I purchase them. Since I have Amazon Prime, no shipping charges which I love!

Here’s a list of the Make Ahead Meals Freezer Containers that I enjoy using.

* Bentgo Prep 1-Compartment Meal-Prep Containers with Custom-Fit Lids – I really like these because they’re sturdy and stackable. Freezer, refrigerator, dishwasher, and micro-safe!

* Bentgo Prep 2-Compartment Meal-Prep Containers with Custom-Fit Lids – These containers are like the first set but come with 2 sections. There are times I like to freeze a main dish along with the side in one container. Homemade TV dinners are the best!

* Cubeware 50-Pack Snap-Seal Containers with Lids – These containers are affordable, reusable, dishwasher-safe, freezer & refrigerator safe, and stackable. I like to make up meals for my adult daughter’s house and for my Mom. So, I like to use more affordable containers when I plan on giving a few meals away, but do use them in my own home too.

* DuraHome Food Storage Containers with Lids – I will use these a lot for freezing smaller portions of soups, stews, sauces, vegetables, etc. They’re reusabled but NOT microwave-safe. I do put them in the freezer, refrigerator, and dishwasher.

* Amazon Basics Tritan Set of 11 Food Storage Containers – These are the containers that I’ve been purchasing the past few months. They’re freezer, refrigerator, dishwasher, and YES, microwave safe! I love that they’re clear (I can see inside them), and they stack really nicely in my freezer. I can freeze, thaw, and reheat the meal all in one container!

I like to have containers that can be put in the freezer. I do sometimes make bigger batches so that I can have the food another later time.

  2. I also like to make bigger batches and have enough to freeze for a future meal. We try not to eat fast foods so a good solution after spending a busy day to come home to a readymade meal. Dishwasher, microwave safe and stackable are containers that work for me.

Really nice containers. I have freg/frezer and it is not large. So anything I freeze have to use freezer bags. Fill and lay them flat on a cookie sheet when frozen I just stack them.

But these container look good may have to get for leftovers
