My 7 year old son suffers with mild to moderate anxiety. At times he has a hard time sitting still, focusing, and/or winding down. As a mother, I’ve chose to NOT medicate him for it. Instead, I look for items to help him with the problems…like these fantastic CMY Cubes.

We received a few of them a couple of weeks ago. They come in different sizes, color-ways and shapes. They’re mesmorizing when you see them. What’s really cool is that different ways the light hits them you’ll see different colors. Stack a few side-by-side or on top of one another and see something else. My son likes to put colored paper or colored fabric items underneath (like my placemats) to see the colors change again.

When I need him to settle down, unwind, and/or focus on something…I get out the CMY Cubes. He sits at his little table for several minutes playing with them. It’s never the same experience twice! He’s always coming up with new ways to bring out different color patterns. After a few minutes he settles downs and the anxiety disappears.

The CMY Cubes are light-weight and you can take them along with you when you travel, running errands, use at school, at home, etc. He takes them in his backpack to school and when needed…he’ll get them out…with his teacher’s permission of course. (yes, she’s aware of his anxiety issues and works with us). They’re the coolest thing and I love using them with my hyper-active son!
