All of the coffee is freshly roasted in Rockford, IL by their dedicated team of firefighters, first responders, and coffee experts. The entire company is ran by current and retired firefighters. For this review I was sent 2 bags of Fire Dept. Coffee to try out for all of you. I received a 12 oz. bag of the Donut Shop and Medium Roast coffees. Each bag is stamped with a best-by date. They’ll arrive to you freshly roasted, so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy them. Both of my bags have a best-by date of March 2023. Bags are resealable.
Brewing: You’ll use 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 fl. oz. of cold water. Use more or less to get your desired strength.
Donut Shop: This is the sweetest coffee sourced from Central and South America, a medium roast, perfect for drinking or dunking.
Medium Roast: This blend is where it began for FDC. Made with a blend of Central and South American coffees. Delivers a bold flavor in every cup.
I live part-time with my daughter and her husband. My son-in-law and I are prolific coffee drinkers. We will each consume 3-4 cups per day. Our favorite roasts are breakfast, donut shop, and medium roast blends. I enjoy it black, while my son-in-law adds milk and sugar.
For the past week we’ve been drinking both varieties and both are equally delicious. We brew the Donut Shop in the morning and then make a pot of the Medium Roast in the afternoon. The Donut Shop has a slight sweetness to it. What’s really nice about both is that neither one of them has a bitter taste to them. I like that they come packaged in a resealable bag too. Both are delicious and I would definitely purchase both!
The company supports their fellow first responders in need by donating 10% of net proceeds to help provide essential resources and assistance to those who have been injured on the job, mentally, or physically, or who are facing health challenges.

I would like to try the Donut Shop blend. I do like coffee that has a sweeter flavor and appreciate ones like this that are not bitter.
This is the first time that I have heard of this company. I shall tell my sons about it.
I like to buy from companies that are small businesses and ones that donate back to the community. I love coffee. I am sure I would like it too.
