Everyday Entertaining: 110+ Recipes for Going All Out When You’re Staying In

Everyday Entertaining 110+ Recipes for Going All Out When You're Staying InMy husband and I love to entertain and now that we are vaccinated and our friends are too, it’s back to boozy brunches, cocktail parties and themed dinners. Of course, I love to change things up and try different recipes and drinks, so when I had the opportunity to receive a copy of Everyday Entertaining: 110+ Recipes for Going All Out When You’re Staying In by Elizabeth Van Lierde, I was quite eager to get my hands on it.

Everyday Entertaining is a culinary and visual feast from the mind of Elizabeth Van Leirde, founder of the acclaimed blog The College Housewife. Elizabeth is a writer, photographer, recipe developer and food stylist. Any given weekend, she can be found in her Orange Country backyard cooking up a meal and memorable experiences for people close to her heart.

Everyday Entertaining 110+ Recipes for Going All Out When You're Staying In

With this book, she has created a good time guide filled with accessible, delicious recipes ranging from lively drinks such as Poolside Watermelon Mojitos and The Negroni Spritz to happy hour noshing favorites like French Onion Dip and Poke Nachos. Everyday Entertaining is packed with vibrant, gorgeous photography that will have you drooling as you turn the pages to your next “go to” dinner party favorite. I was inspired by the “Boards & Platters” section, which is a guide to creating an amazing cheese or vegetable board. Building a charcuterie board doesn’t have to be boring—I filled a lazy susan serving platter with an assortment of cured meat, spreads, fresh fruit and of course a variety of cheese. It was definitely a hit!

This book offers everything you need to make your next gathering unforgettable and most importantly, with as little stress as possible. Everyday Entertaining will be your go-to guide with over 110 Instagram-worthy recipes. In addition to the drinks and appetizers that I mentioned above, you’ll find easy to follow recipes for mains, sides, brunch and desserts, as well as some tricks from setting the perfect table to planning the perfect date night at home. Elizabeth makes entertaining essentials easy and affordable, which is important for someone like me, who is typically pressed for time and on a budget!

Charcuterie

There are so many delicious recipes in this book that it is tough to decide which ones to try my hand at next, but we’re having another little gathering soon and the Juicy Citrus Carnitas paired with Blood Orange Margaritas sound like the makings of memorable evening.

Everyday Entertaining is available for pre-sale at Amazon.com (it will be available in mid-August) and would be a great addition to any kitchen—it would even make a great gift for all those college grads who are making their way out into the world.
