How to Make a Mai Tai Cocktail Drink

Are you ready to get your drink on? I am! One of my favorite cocktails to drink is a Mai Tai if it’s properly made. I like mine a little bit on the lighter side so that I can taste the fruity flavors along with a hint of the alcohol. A friend of mine first introduced me to the Mai Tai a few years ago and it’s been one of my favorites ever since.

How to Make a Mai Tai Cocktail Drink

1/2 oz. Dark Rum
1/4 oz. Creme de Almond
Ice Cubes
1 1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 1/2 oz. Orange Juice
1 oz. Light Rum
1 Red Cherry
1 Orange Slice

You’ll want to prepare it in a tall glass. I like to chill my glasses for 30 to 60 minutes before preparing them. I think it makes for a refreshing drink on a hot summer day. When adding in your ingredients you’ll want to add them in the order that’s given. I will add 2-3 ice cubes, depending on the cube size. You don’t want to overload it with ice which will water it down. Well, unless you prefer a watered down version. Once prepared, serve it immediately.

I have never tried this cocktail. However since I love all the ingredients in it it should taste great.

  2. I’ve always like the name Mai Tai. I’ve never had one, but liked the name.
