Geedel Potato French Fry Cutter Makes Cutting Fries Quick and Easy

Geedel Potato French Fry CutterMy family loves homemade French Fries and prefer them over store bought varieties. We make our own fries every few months and freeze them for later use. Cutting and freezing them is an easy process once you own a French Fry Potato Cutter. Over the years I’ve owned several different brands with most being really hard to use. Until now.

Last month I decided to invest in a new French Fry Cutter and purchased the Geedel Potato Cutter from Amazon. I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Out of all of the fry cutters I’ve owned this one is by far the easiest one that I’ve ever used! Plus, it’s very easy to clean!

The Geedel Potato Cutter is made out of food grade material and has a stainless steel cutting blade. The heavy-duty plastic material (base and handle) are BPA free. One of the things I love about it is the handle. I have small hands while my husband has large ones. Both of us can use it with no problems at all.

You can use it to cut fries from white potatoes or sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes are a much harder potato so you’ll want to place it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes before cutting. Once you do that it will go through the manual cutter easily. You don’t have to do that with your white potatoes at all.  For large potatoes (any variety) you may have to slice it in half to get it through the chute. I recommend working with medium sized potatoes as much as possible, but I’ve certainly used it with small and large ones too.

I like to use it on top of my (clean) tempered glass cutting board. It provides a stable base and the fries come out onto a clean surface. You can then dump them easily onto a baking sheet or into freezer bags for storage. I find that it slides around much less when placed on my cutting board as compared to my counter-top surface. Just my personal preference.

When you’re done using it you’ll untwist the wire-nut screw to remove the stainless steel blade. I rinse mine under warm running water. I will use a little bit of liquid dish soap and my scrubbing brush if I need to remove dirt and debris. I then lay it on a clean towel to dry. I’ve never put my unit or blade into the dishwasher as I want it to last for years.

Each Potato Fry Cutter comes with a little instruction booklet inside the box that gives you more info about the unit and a few little tips to help guide you when cutting up your potatoes. It’s a super simple process and clean-up is a snap. Even with my painful hands and wrists…I can easily make homemade french fries using this device! I love it!

You can purchase the Geedel Potato French Fry Cutter from Amazon for a really great price! I purchased mine there and since I’m an Amazon Prime member, shipping was free. It’s well worth every dollar that I spent and I highly recommend it. You can find my instructions on how to cut, blanch and freeze your uncooked fries for later use by READING THIS POST on our blog.

This does sound like a great potato French fry cutter. I do not have one right now. I do not know if I need it just for myself, but I shall tell my sons about it.

make our own fries every few months and freeze them for later use This statement really surprised me I had no ideal but I should have because I buy frozen FF. But I never thought about doing it my self. Some time the price of potatoes is cheaper to buy a big bag. But I can never eat that many before they go bad.

If I get one of these cutters I could cut and freeze and then still have the rest for what ever.

  3. Very true that sweet potatoes are harder than white ones. I think you mean to put the sweet potato in the microwave, not the cutter (not clear).

  4. After reading this post, I was reminded that I soooo need a new potato-french-fry-cutter. I didn’t know that they sold these on Amazon too and that price is good thanks for sharing.
