Kid’s Crafts Wood Spoon Penguin Christmas Ornaments

Kid's Crafts Wood Spoon Penguin Christmas OrnamentsJust like adults, children love arts and crafts. With the holidays quickly approaching we wanted to share this easy-to-make craft project with all of you. Although it’s geared towards children, adults can make them too! You will need a few basic craft supplies and you can whip up several of them in just one afternoon.

Kid’s Crafts: Wood Spoon Penguin Christmas Ornaments

Wood Sundae Ice Cream Spoons
Craft Paint: Black, White and Orange
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Small Orange Pom-Poms
Quick-Drying Craft Glue
Clear Fishing Line
Scissors
Round Wood Toothpick

Base coat the wood sundae ice cream spoons with 1-2 coats of black acrylic craft paint. Let dry for 30 minutes. While the paint is drying cut a 5″ long piece of fishing line and tie it into a loop with a knotted end. Set aside.

Use white paint to make 2 ovals on your penguin, one to serve as his face and one to serve as his belly. Refer to photograph for placement. Let dry. Dip the end of your paint brush (non-bristle end) into black paint and dot on 2 eyes. Use your paint brush and orange paint to make the beak. Let dry. Dip the end of a toothpick into white paint and dot on the inner eyes. Let dry.

Love the penguin design. We use cloth to wrap our gifts but still need a way to identify presents. These ornaments would be helpful and cute as gift tags.

  3. That’s a quick and easy craft. Fun for kids to make.

These are super cute. They’d be neat to hang on the Christmas tree, and kids would get a kick out of making them and putting them on the tree.

  5. That is such a cute idea. You have given me so sweet ideas for the girls to do while they visit. Thank you so much for helping me make memories with them.
