Meditative Origami Finding Mindfulness Through Coloring & Origami

Meditative Origami Coloring and Design BookLet’s face it…life can be stressful at times. We all need to take frequent breaks for ourselves to relax and unwind. One way that I deal with stress is by frequently sitting down and working on various arts & craft projects. Adult coloring being one of them.

Meditative Origami Coloring and Design Book

For those of you who enjoy adult coloring books and/or origami you’re going to love the Meditative Origami – Finding Mindfulness Through Coloring & Origami Book. It’s actually two books in one! You’ll sit down and color-in the printed designs and then once finished you’ll remove the page from the book and follow the origami instructions to fold it into a neat design.

Title: Meditative Origami
Author: John Montroll
Publisher: Dover Publications
ISBN: 978-0-486-83743-7

Spirituality seekers can begin their meditation by creating their own origami paper — it’s just a matter of detaching and coloring one of these 23 pages, which are preprinted with intriguing designs. Then step-by-step directions provide guidance for the peaceful folding of 10 origami models, including a swan, butterfly, unicorn, and rose. Inspirational quotes throughout the book provide thought-provoking boosts your day as you practice meditative origami.

Meditative Origami Coloring and Design Book

Internationally renowned author John Montroll has significantly increased the origami repertoire with his original designs. Best known as the inspiration behind the single-square, no-cuts, no-glue approach, Montroll offers readers meticulously developed folding sequences that allow them to create better models with fewer steps. These original designs to color and fold will delight origami enthusiasts of all ages.

Recently I went through a very traumatic experience and the stress has been unreal. One thing that has helped me to relax has been adult coloring. I find it to be a great way to de-stress and it allows me to be creative at the same time. This book has been a lot of fun to work on. So far I’ve colored three pages and completed one origami design. I love that its two books in one!

When I work on coloring books and paper crafts I like to use Glitter Gel Ink Pens in my projects. The colors are bright and vivid, the ink doesn’t run or bleed through your paper. You will have to give them a few hours to fully dry but they’re 100% better than using colored pencils. Just my 2 cents on that!

I think the Meditative Origami book would make a great holiday gift. You could pick up the book and a pack of glitter gel ink pens…pop into a gift back and you’re done. Of course you could always purchase markers, crayons or colored pencils too. That’s up to you!
