Steeped Coffee

This might sound familiar to you if you’re a regular reader of The Classy Chics, since we featured Steeped Coffee earlier this year (click here to see that review). But with our Holiday Gift Guide going strong, I wanted to suggest that Steeped Coffee might be a great choice for the coffee lover on your gift list, especially if they go camping or have an RV or other small kitchen without space for a dedicated coffeemaker, or if they simply prefer their coffee one delicious cup at a time. A nice Steeped-branded mug would round out your gift, or you could give them a starter kit or even a subscription so they’d think of you all year long with each delivery. If you’re not sure which of the five Steeped Coffee varieties they’d prefer, gift cards are also available.

Steeped Coffee

The concept of Steeped Coffee might sound like it’s just instant coffee in a tea bag, but it’s far beyond that. Although making Steeped Coffee is as simple as making a cup of tea, the coffee itself is ground to a specific size and density that actually brews in your cup, as opposed to instant coffee that dissolves in water. The bag’s special filter material allows the hot water to permeate the bag and grounds for a delicious cup of coffee. The concept may be simple, but Steeped Coffee has managed to execute it perfectly.

For my review, I received a fun diner-style mug and two ten-pack boxes of Steeped Coffee, the Odyssey Blend dark roast and the Eventide Decaf. My husband and I have been enjoying the rich Odyssey Blend in the morning and the smooth Eventide Decaf in the evening, with some lighthearted arguing over who gets to use the Steeped mug. Making a cup of Steeped Coffee is simple: I just set my electric kettle to the “coffee” setting (195°F), slowly pour the hot water over the Steeped Coffee bag in a mug, dunk the bag several times to saturate the grounds, then let it steep for about 5 minutes.
