A few years ago I jumped onto the adult coloring bandwagon after having surgery and a long recovery period. I was getting depressed and needed a creative outlet. Once I jumped into the adult coloring world I felt my spirits lift and my creativity re-emerge. It’s now a hobby that I enjoy on a regular basis to help me relax and to de-stress after a busy day.

Creative Haven has some of the best adult coloring books out in the retail marketplace and the Patchwork Quilt Designs Coloring Book by Carol Schmidt from Dover Publications if fantastic! Even if you’re not a quilter…I think you’re going to enjoy the designs.

Creative Haven Patchwork Quilt Designs Coloring Book

Synopsis: Blankets of splendid geometric configurations — drawn from time-honored patchwork quilt motifs — fill this festival of traditional folk art. Thirty-one designs offer endless coloring possibilities and will surely delight quilters, collectors, and colorists alike.

Pages are perforated and printed on one side only for easy removal and display. Specially designed for experienced colorists, Traditional Patchwork Quilt Designs and other Creative Haven® adult coloring books offer an escape to a world of inspiration and artistic fulfillment. Each title is also an effective and fun-filled way to relax and reduce stress.

When I work on coloring books and paper crafts I like to use Glitter Gel Ink Pens in my projects. The colors are bright and vivid, the ink doesn’t run or bleed through your paper. You will have to give them a few hours to fully dry but they’re 100% better than using colored pencils. Just my 2 cents on that!

The 31 patchwork quilt designs in this book are pretty simple and I really appreciate that. Having simple designs really allows you to get creative with your coloring and in my honest opinion they can be completed pretty quickly. Plus, you won’t have to have dozens of different colored pens, markers or pencils on hand to complete them.

Once your design (page) has been completed you can remove it from the book. Use them in your scrapbooking projects, frame them to hand on the wall, laminate them to use as placemats, cut out elements & laminate them to turn into refrigerator magnets or bookmarks, etc. There is a LOT you can do with your completed designs!!!
