The Christmas season is just around the corner and I’m already working on new crafts for the holiday season. As you all know, I decorate in a beach and coastal theme, so my holiday decorations have to reflect that. I enjoy crafting with seashells and decided to make this adorable snowman that has been painted onto a large clam seashell.
Craft Project: Snowman Painted Large Clam Seashells
Large Clam Seashell
Sapphire Blue Metallic Craft Paint
White, Black and Orange Craft Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Faux Snow Textured White Paint
Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer, Glossy Finish
Base coat your large clam shell with 2 coats of sapphire blue metallic craft paint and let dry for 30-45 minutes. Now it’s time to start building your snowman by painting on 3 round snowballs in various sizes, just like a real snowman using white craft paint. Let dry for 30-45 minutes.
Use black craft paint to add on the snowman’s eyes, mouth and buttons. Use orange craft paint to make a triangular-shaped carrot nose. Let dry for 30-45 minutes.
We used textured white faux snow paint to make a snowy ground scene underneath our painted snowman. I really like the dimension that this adds. This type of paint will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes to dry once applied.
To finish up you’ll want to take your painted seashell outside and spray it with 2 coats of clear acrylic spray sealer. This will protect your painted surface from discoloring, chipping and fading over the years. Plus, you can display your painted seashells inside or outside your home.

This is a great craft for anyone. It could be used as an ornament, a paperweight or in the yard.
Still another great shell craft. This is so cute.
I like it. It would be a great tree ornament.
