GOOSEBUMPS 2 Movie Party Supplies

We were provided with complimentary movie supplies and a digital movie download code. We will be watching the movie with our granddaughter on December 26th, after the holiday. To get ready for the movie we decided to do a little pre-movie party planning. In our kit we received several recipe cards and today we’re sharing a recipe with all of you. These cookies are super-easy to make and taste great.

To make these cookies you’ll need Haribo Gummy Bears along with other basic baking supplies. Using the Gummy Bears saved us a lot of time and fuss! A lot easier using them then buying fruit preserves, jam, etc. Highly recommend them!!!

Holiday Thumbprint Cookies Recipe

Slappy’s Holiday Thumbprint Cookies Recipe

1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
36 Haribo Gummy Bears
Holiday Sprinkles

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. I used my copper baking sheet, so I didn’t need to line it with anything. They’re naturally non-stick.

In a large mixing bowl mix together the softened butter and brown sugar until creamy. Add in the egg yolks, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until blended. Fold-in the all-purpose flour and salt, stirring until completely combined. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and place into the freezer for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes in the freezer shape cookie dough into tablespoon-sized balls. Decorate the balls with desired holiday sprinkles. Arrange 1 1/2″ apart on the baking sheet. Using your thumb, press a hole in the middle of each ball. Make sure your hole is deep enough to hold a gummy bear, but not too deep where it splits the ball apart.

Place baking sheet into a 350 degree preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until cookies look almost done. Remove baking sheet from the oven. Place 1 Haribo Gummy Bear in each cookie cavity. Return baking sheet back into the oven and bake until the gummy bears completely melt. This process will take 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Remove from oven. Place cookies on a wire rack to cool. Once cool place them into an airtight container.

These cookies were fun to make! My 9 year old granddaughter and her BFF both had fun making them! As they were baking…they were snacking on some of the leftover Haribo Gummy Bears that came in our movie kit. Later on today they’ll be doing one of the science activities that came in the kit and we’ll share that info with you in the coming days!

Don’t forget….Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween will be available for digital download starting on Christmas Day! You can pick up the blu-ray and DVD starting on January 15th, 2019. You can pre-order it now!!!

  1. This is such a clever way to make these thumbprint cookies. I want to try this with my granddaughter. I think she would have fun making them and I know she will enjoy snacking on the gummies.

Kids do like the Goosebumps movies, TV show and books. I’m sure I’ll be watching this with my youngest nephew.
