Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Game

Phillies Baseball Game PhiladelphiaDo any of you enjoy watching professional baseball? Do any of you actually love traveling to the games and seeing them in person? If so, do you have a favorite team that you love to watch?

I admit, we are NOT huge professional baseball fans, but from time to time, we do like to travel down to Philadelphia to catch a game. The Philadelphia Phillies seem to go in spurts of when their “good” and when their “terrible” and it’s been awhile since they won the World Series. (way too long if you ask me).

The stadium is about a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive from our home, depending on the traffic. When we go, we do prefer going down there during the weekends so that we can avoid the work traffic that jams up the expressway during the week.

The game that we attended recently was pretty good and the Phillies did win. Sorry that my photograph isn’t too great (it was dusk and getting dark pretty quickly) but I did get a photo snapped!

I really wish that admission tickets would come down in price and I feel that more people/fans would attend if it did. In addition, the beverages and food prices are off the chart! If you’re a family of 4-5 members, you could easily blow $200 or more spending the afternoon or evening at a professional baseball game! Geesh, they need to make it more affordable & pay those athletes less!

Well, there you have it! My “Almost” Wordless Wednesday and “Gripe” post for this week! LOL Seriously though, we had a great time but I do feel it is way over-priced!

We have always been NY Yankee fans , but the cost of tickets is much too high. I don’t even want to think about the cost of the food. However, sometimes we go to a game at a less important arena.

My nephews are big Cincinnati Reds fans. (We live in Northern KY.) I like the fact that the Reds quite often offer tickets for just $5 or $10 special deals. Otherwise, you’re right, it would be too expensive, especially when you take into account the food! (And no way am I not eating ballpark food, lol!!!)

  3. When I was growing up we’d travel an hour from Greeley to Denver to see the Denver Bears play baseball. I don’t think it cost very much back then (1955-1966). Haven’t been to a game in decades.
