Christmas Comes Earlier Every Year

Christmas Comes Earlier Every Year

It is just barely October and the weather is starting to finally cool off and change, yet you would not know that when you go shopping lately. Christmas has been hitting the stores since right after the back to school promos ended in September. Is is me or is Christmas coming earlier and earlier every year?

I know that retailers want to make a big push as the holidays are their main time for making big sales and good profits. But I think with all of the commercialization of the Christmas season, we are missing out on the other things in between too.

Where is the Thanksgiving and fall season promos? Those things are getting pushed aside while Christmas takes over.

I think it is sad that retail has come down to focusing on what the next promo will be and not on service or other things that consumers want. Quality items with good prices, not the “what is on sale” promos, where you never know if you are getting a good price or not!

How do you feel about seeing Christmas in the stores in September? Don’t get me wrong. I love the holiday season. It is my favorite time, but not when it lasts for 4 months! LOL Am I wrong in thinking this way? Is everything now about the all mighty buck??

I got Christmas catalogs in August, lol. I wish the stores would hold off until after Halloween, at least! Having said that, I started Christmas shopping in September. I always do, so I don’t go bankrupt in December!

  2. Seeing the Christmas stuff being promoted earlier and earlier every year takes away from any enjoyment I used to find in the holidays. Nowadays I’m just jaded about the whole thing. It’s not special, it’s all just commercial. Sorry about being a downer; guess you caught me having a bad night. Sigh.

I truly dislike it. I won’t buy any of it.

  4. Don’t even get me started on this topic!!!! It makes me sooooooooooo mad when I see Christmas stuff in the stores earlier and earlier each year. They are just taking all of the wonder and excitement of the holiday. It is just all about greed and money and it really bothers me.

I agree that there is too much commercializations of Christmas and it does start earlier each year. we even have the Christmas In July Sales which means we see ads and sales for Christmas for 6 months of the year. I want to be able to enjoy the other holidays too.

  6. I do not like it. I ignore it as much as I can. Should start after Thanksgiving.

While I shop for Christmas deals year round, I don’t want to be bombarded with it so early. Each holiday needs its time and celebration. Back to school and Christmas decorations don’t go together…neither do Halloween and Christmas.

  8. I don’t like it at all, it’s disorienting!
