Baby Care Basics Book

Baby Care Basics BookI am expecting my second child any day now. This pregnancy has been tough on me but I am pretty happy that the end is near. I am looking forward to meeting my baby boy and holding him in my arms for the first time.

One thing that every new parent needs is advice. Advice on all sort of topics like diapering, colic, breast feeding, napping, sleep positions, bathing a new baby and so forth. There are hundreds of books out there in the marketplace that you can use.

One such book is called “Baby Care Basics” by Dr. Jeremy Friedman, Dr. Natasha Saunders and Dr. Norman Saunders. This book has all of the information, helpful tips and advice that a new parent needs and it’s all in one easy-to-read book!

Despite all of the planning in the world, nothing can quite prepare you for the big steps from pregnancy to parenting. What can make it even more challenging is all the well-intentional but often confusing advice offered by family & friends. With that said, we all know the best advice comes from healthcare professionals.

The book was written by leading pediatric experts and contains 224 pages with over 50 full-color photographs. You’ll learn everything you need to know about breastfeeding, formula feeding, introducing solid food, treating your baby’s illnesses, sleep habits, playing with your baby and so much more! It’s really a wealth of information!

My mother gave me the book 2 weeks ago and I am almost all of the way through it. One of the sections that I really enjoyed reading was the section on breastfeeding since I will be doing this with baby #2. That chapter talks to you about getting good nursing bras, proper breastfeeding positions (along with photos), breastfeeding equipment you will need and so forth. It’s laid out in a very easy to understand format which I really appreciate.

In my opinion…this book is a MUST-HAVE when you are expecting a new baby or need to brush up on your skills from previous times. In my case, my children will be 6 1/2 years a part and it was great getting some things refreshed while learning new things. This is a fantastic book!

  1. This sounds like a very thorough book that would be valuable for both first time and experience parents. There is always so much to remember and to learn and nice to have a comprehensive book to consult.

This sounds like a good book to have for all those pregnant ladies. it can be very confusing with all,the comments one gets to distinguish which is the best advice.

This sounds like a wonderful book. Terrific to have advice to check for the simple things – but always trust your own instincts first. Also, we have the internet now, with so many sites to consult. All I had was a an old Dr. Spock (no, not Mr. Spock) book, which I ignored – since I was raised on that, and look how I turned out! (And the enjoy the last few days of your pregnancy, wishing you an easy labor & delivery!) (((((HUGS)))))

So much information and books out there, but you have this. It’s good that you found one you are enjoying and feel comfortable with. Thanks for the recommendation. I have several friends pregnant right now. Never be afraid to ask for advice, tell people when to be quiet, and to ask questions. Moms are always right. 🙂
