Find Your Next Home on Hilton Head Island

tropicalislandHilton Head Island ranks as one of the top tourist destinations in the world. The golf courses located on this island often have professional players hitting the links right next to people on vacation, and the island also boasts a number of other outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, swimming and water sports. Homes in the area range in price from a few hundred thousand dollars to well over $1 million, but you can easily find a realtor who will walk you through the process of buying a new home and help you find the home of your dreams.

Things to Do

There are hundreds of fun things in Hilton Head for you to do with your kids, partner or a group of friends. The median income on the island is around $60,000 a year, but there are many local residents making six figures or more every year. Approximately 17 percent of all residents are under the age of 18, and more than 21 percent of all residents are retired. That might explain why you’ll see miniature golf courses and children’s museums located right next to antique stores and golf courses. Other fun things to do in the area include the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and Main Street Youth Theatre.

Types of Homes Available

Hilton Head is a diverse area with a number of small neighborhoods scattered across the island. Port Royal, Haig Point and Sun City are just a few of those neighborhoods. Sun City is a gated community that is popular with families who have young children, while Port Royal is more popular with ocean lovers and outdoor enthusiasts due to its proximity to the water. You’ll find everything from small starter homes that are perfect for couples just starting out to large plantation homes with enough room for the grandchildren to visit.

Sounds like a paradise! I wouldn’t want to be there in a hurricane but otherwise would love to have a house on the water!
