The Redhead Plays Her Hand by Alice Clayton

I was so happy to open my mail the other day and saw inside a new book from one of my favorite authors, Alice Clayton. I reviewed a few of her books this year and her newest installment in her Redhead series showed up and the door and I was stoked to be able to review this! I love the first book and now I get to share with you her newest release!

Synopsis: Grace Sheridan is flying high. With scorching passion from her gorgeous Brit superstar Jack Hamilton plus the lead role in a new television dramedy, she could just pinch herself. Then a demand from her show’s directors to drop fifteen pounds brings her back down to earth with a thump. Forced to subsist on air, cucumbers, and boot camp, Grace wonders if the body that brings the newly crowned “Sexiest Man Alive” to his knees is just too much for Hollywood. Jack, meanwhile, seems overly enamored of the celebrity lifestyle. Forbidden by his publicity-conscious manager to reveal his relationship with Grace, he’s hitting the industry party scene way too hard.

As Grace’s bod incites fiery debate about the message of “thin is in,” Jack’s jealous fans are downing the hate-erade, viciously slamming her curves. Grace longs for Jack’s support, but he’s showing up late and disheveled to her most important moments. With tempers between them flaring, Hollywood’s most talked-about redhead might have more to lose than a few stubborn pounds. She and Jack were clearly made for each other—but will the day ever come when they can walk the red carpet together, hand in hand?

My Thoughts: I just love the writing style of Alice Clayton. She is funny and you cannot help but fall in love with her characters. In this 3rd and final installment of the series, Grace and Jack are full of Hollywood fame and plenty of drama. The only problem is that they still cannot tell the world that they are involved And they are very involved with each other and their careers. But being in the public eye takes a toll on Jack and Grace.

I think it is easy to say how terrible it would be to live in the public eye, all while rolling our own eye’s at the unfortunate “problems” famous people endure. The author takes you through the painful situations that Jack and Grace endure in such a way that you are feeling all of the emotion. You get mad, sad and happy and wrapped up in all of their ups and downs as if you really know them. You probably do know them in a sense, after reading their story in 3 different books. I love cheering their romance on and could not wait to see where the story ends.

The author writes in a very familiar way so the book moves quickly which is good and bad. I wanted to find out what came next but I did not want the story to end either. I love their relationship because it is full of passion and fun. The author has a fabulous knack for being able to tell their story in a way that makes you want more and more.

If you are a fan of romance and stories full of humor, life and passion, you have to read Alice Clayton. She weaves her stories in a way that keeps you coming back for more and more. I know I will make sure to read every book she crafts.
