Let’s Talk Turkey – Your Thanksgiving Day Turkey!

Good morning everyone! How was your weekend? Did you go out and do anything fun or exciting? Unfortunately I had to get back to work this weekend. It was a busy one for us but I did manage to get my house cleaning done & some online blog work too!

Today’s Topic: Let’s talk TURKEY! When it comes to your Thanksgiving Day turkey do you prefer white meat or dark meat? I usually go for white meat because it has less fat and I am indeed watching my weight. Do you prefer to have your stuffing cooked inside the bird or out? I prefer mine OUT because then it doesn’t get soupy & soggy. So, what are your preferences?

We had a few giveaways close late last night so we do have winners to announce this morning. As always, we spend time every morning validating entries, trashing out the cheater entries and then randomly select a winner using random.org. We then double check that persons entry to make sure it’s legit and then finalize it.

Let’s get the party started!!!

Winner for the Bed Buddy Gift Pack: Emily Mahr

  1. I’ll be cooking a full Thanksgiving meal, but it will be just the two of us. We were grocery shopping yesterday and I was rooting around in the freezer case for the smallest turkey, but my spouse looked horrified. We ended up with a turkey just shy of 14 pounds! LOL! He’ll eat most of the dark meat and I’ll eat the white meat, then I use both kinds in the leftovers (pot pie, soup, etc.). And with a turkey that big, there will be a lot of leftovers, for sure! 😀

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Congrqts to the winners!! We are first time hosts this year for a thanksgiving dinner of 20+. I am terrified! We are going to a huge turkey fry party the day before and we are having two 15 pound birds fried so we only have to warm them back up on Thanksgiving day. I am a strictly white meat and no skin kinda gal ( not due to health reasons, I just don’t like the other stuff). I love my stuffing and it will be cooked out. We will also have some traditional German foods such as apple-red cabbage and Knödel, which are potato dumplings.
    Happy Thanksgiving to everyone 🙂

  3. Actually, I prefer NO meat – Tofurky is better as noa animal is killed in the process!

    Congratulations, Winners, enjoy.
We are a white meat family. Actually, I’m just doing a breast this year instead of the whole bird. We normally do a whole bird, but I still want the white meat and my stuffing on the outside. I’ve never been one for cooking it in the bird. I love deviled eggs but like them tangy. We use lots of mustard and some vinegar in ours instead of mayo. Healthier and I like the tangy taste. Happy Thanksgiving to all and enjoy lots of fun and food!

I like the dark meat because it is not as dry, but the white meat is good too. I usually don’t eat the stuffing because I’m always trying find way to cut calories and carbs and also would rather use my calorie intake on pumpkin pie!! Happy Thanksgiving!!

    Congratulations to the 3 winners.
I have no preference between white and dark meat if the turkey is good and juicy. I usually cook the stuffing outside so that it can be crispy on the outside.

  7. Congrats to your winners!

I am a dark meat kinda gal- I eat the thigh meat just like I do on a chicken 🙂 Nope no stuffing inside it makes it yucky !

  8. Yay winners! I’m afraid I don’t eat much turkey any more but preferred the white meat back when I ate it. My gut likes it better if I don’t eat gluten so I don’t do the regular stuffing. I’m just no fun. I usually bring things I can eat to the turkey day celebration and don’t make a big deal of it.

Congrats to the winners and thanks for the great offers and write ups.
I used to do the drumstick, but me and my wife started the DDP Yoga this past week so we will be cutting back to the white meat. Stuffing inside….Tradition and all. All this talk of Holiday food, why oh why did I discover DDP Yoga at this time of year? LOL

Wishing everyone the best of the Holidays and stay fit.

First, my congrats to the winners! I prefer dark meat because I think it has more flavor, but this year I too am having to watch my weight so I will go with some of the white as well. I prefer my stuffing outside the bird. I love the crisp crust and I don’t like it soggy either! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love and fellowship!
