Getting Carpets Cleaned Before the Holiday

redholidaytreeTomorrow is Thanksgiving and in less than a month, Christmas will be here. This year we will be having our Thanksgiving at the nursing home with my great aunt and her lady friends.

This year for Christmas I will be cooking dinner and serving 11 adults and 5 children. Yup, we will have a house full of people here come Christmas Day.

As soon as Thanksgiving is over I plan on getting busy with my Christmas preparations. First up will be contacting a professional for carpet cleaning. We had all new carpet put into our home last November and its time for a professional cleaning before the holidays.

Once that has been accomplished I am going to have my housekeeper give our home a thorough house cleaning from top to bottom. Yes, I am fortunate enough that I have a paid housekeeper that comes in twice a week to do cleaning.

After the house is cleaned I am going to get our holiday tree and decorations up and in place. I think this year we will go “all out” with the decorations now that we are in our new home.

I do need to go out shopping and get two of those queen sized air beds and sheets to fit them for when our out of town guests arrive. We do have 3 beds in our home but with all of these people coming, I want them to be comfortable and have their own space.

Last night I sat down and made a list so that I can get busy accomplishing all of this stuff as soon as Thanksgiving is over. Sigh, I really need to get busy, quickly!

Are you all getting ready for the Christmas holiday? Do any of you give your home and carpets a thorough cleaning before the big day? What are your big holiday preparations like? I would love to hear about it!

You are lucky to have a housekeeper twice a week. I am still doing my own cleaning. I haven’t had the rugs professionally cleaning in 3 years, so it might be time for that. As you said I shall sit down and make a list of everything that needs to be done and then try to follow it.

this is what i need to do

  3. That is lucky to have a housekeeper twice a week! After I had my 2nd child, I had a housecleaning service but I could only afford to have them come once every 2 weeks.
