Moisturize Dry Skin With LaviShea Lotion Bars

February 8, 2013 by Classystaff

There is one thing I do not like about cooler temperatures and that is how drying it is to my skin. Some days I feel like I have elephant skin. It gets all cracked and old lady looking and I hate it. Liquid lotions only last for so long and at the rate I go through them, it gets expensive too! I have tried moisturizing Lotion Bars in the past and loved them so I was excited to check out a line that is made from all natural products.
Moisturize Dry Skin With LaviShea Lotion Bars
LaviShea is a US manufacturer and retailer that has a beautiful line of lotion bars they created that use the moisturizing and healing properties of unrefined fair trade shea butter and 100% natural soy, along with premium botanical oils, essential oils, and/or skin-safe fragrance. Since they only use natural products, you know what you are putting on your skin.

Some people know lotion bars as lotion yarn bars or a knitters lotion bar. These are popular for hand crafters and quilters to use so their hands are not dry and skin or hangnails do not pull threads or yarn as they are working. Lotion bars made by LaviShea does not leave any residue on your fabric or yarn so that it is safe to use while crafting.

I was sent several tins to check out of their lotion bars and their newest product, the Cuticle Treatment. First off, I love the tins. They make it so easy to carry in your purse, craft bag or even in your luggage as they are perfect for traveling! The LaviSalve Cuticle Treatment is in a bit smaller tin than the lotion bars and it comes with a screw off lid. The scent is a Lavender Eucalyptus scent that is not overly scented with either fragrance. It is a nice combination of both.

This salve you apply by rubbing your finger over the top and then into your cuticles. It does not come out of the tin. It looks a lot like the lotion bar and it offers nice moisture to your cuticle. I had neglected my hands for several weeks, so my cuticles were quite dry. The salve felt great on my skin and soaked in nicely. It lasted several hours and then I was ready to re-apply. I like that this is not greasy at all so there was no smear marks on my keyboard or anything! LOL Very nice indeed!

The Lotion Bars from LaviShea are a round disc that comes out of the tin so you can rub them on your hands and skin; applying the lotion and moisture where you need it most. The bars melt with the heat of your skin so they can go right into your skin, right where you need it the most. I enjoyed using these as they absorb quickly and left no greasy residue either. They are super convenient to use whenever you need them too.

I first used this lotion bar on my super dry hands and I loved the way they looked and felt for hours after. The dry, leathery looking skin looked like my skin did when I was in my 20’s. So soft and supple. It lasted for 4 or 5 hours from the first application. This is not bad. I have continued to use these bars for the past 4 days I have had them and I am loving these bars. Plus the scents are fabulous and they even have unscented for those that are scent sensitive.

I am loving the tins and I already have one stashed in my purse. This cold weather is a killer on my skin as it is so dry here. Plus I love that I can use this when I am crocheting and not have to worry about it staining my yarn. So another tin is going in my yarn tote. Yay! I am happy happy!
