Top 100 Step-by-Step Napkin Folds Book by Denise VivaldoTop 100 Step-by-Step Napkin Folds is a beautiful hardcover book by Denise Vivaldo and published by Robert Rose. It has a total of 224 pages with step-by-step instructions along with more than 1,000 color photos to help guide you with your elegant napkin folding task. ISBN: 978-0-7788-0423-9.

Book Synopsis: Knowing how to execute a perfect napkin fold is not a skill everyone has, but it’s one you can easily & quickly teach yourself, with Denise’s help of course! Napkin folds immediately brings a touch of elegance, whimsey or retro style to your table. And they take your table setting to the next level with no added expense, you’re just learning dozens of clever new ways to present the napkins you have.

The 100 folds are divided into easy, intermediate and advanced sections, so you’ll know which ones to start with and how to work your way up. Simplier is often better, and the most formal folds, in fact tend to be relatively easy. And when you’re using napkins with an elaborate pattern or design, a simple fold may show it off best. The concealed wire-o hardcover format of this book, makes the book lie flat when open, making following the instructions a breeze.

My Thoughts: I love to cook, bake and entertain…but I never gotten into fancy napkin folding because I never knew how and I thought it would be a complicated learning task. Well, not any more! With the holidays coming up (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s) I am determined to learn napkin folding and set an elegant table this year!

note: Sorry for the darker photos, they are working on the kitchen remodeling project so my lighting is temporarily stinky! LOL

I love that this is a hardcover book that lies flat which makes learning napkin folding a lot easier. The front of the book has some great napking folding ideas that are broken down into the occasion: like Birthday parties, football parties, tea parties, wine & cheese tasting parties, pasta party and so forth. I love that it shows me some napkin folds for the type of party or dinner I may be hosting.

There is a Napkin Folds 101 chapter for beginners (that would be me!) and I got a lot of great information and tips from that chapter. As you go through the book, it is broken down nicely into your particular skill level, if you are a beginner like myself, start out in the beginners section. All of the napkin folds taught in this book include step-by-step instructions and tons of great color photos to help guide you every step of the way. I like that some are pretty simple folds and others are more elaborate!

For Thanksgiving dinner this year, I am going to do the Parasol fold (see photo above) but I am going to use brown plaid napkins to resemble turkey feathers…or at least that is my plan!

Overall, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! I am looking forward to trying out several of the designs and setting a beautiful holiday table this year! You can buy this wonderful book directly from the publisher, Robert Rose.
