  1. It makes me happy that Uno is number one. Bingo is a good one too. We like Mad Libs because there are no pieces, hehe. p.s. Kias are so cute! I really want one.

  2. We played License Plate Travel Game, my brother loved Mad Libs or we sang 99 Bottles Of Beer On The Wall

  3. We used to just play “slug bug” though that usually led to us being in trouble for hitting our sisters.

  4. Checkers is a good game to take along because by the time you get to the point where you are about to lose, a pothole will clear the board and help you save face.

There’s the State Plate game and I’m Going on a Trip. With road signs, you can have people look for pictures of things in alphabetical order.

Awesome list!!!I don’t know why I haven’t packed a load of games for my car. My kids drive me nuts on road trips lol.

We love Rummikub and Uno. I’m glad that there is a hand held version. That will come in handy on long road trips since my kids do easily get bored. Sometime we come up with our own games like finding each letter of the Alphabet or a certain word using the letters on signs and license plate. Whoever completes it first wins

  8. This list brings back memories. When you travel with 7 kids besides being called crazy you need some games. I forgot all about Mastermind. We played that all the time along with Uno and Yahtzee.
    Thanks for the post.

Good list. My favorite family game is Sorry, but I know it isn’t really a travel game. We always take a deck of cards with us (more for the hotel than the road). I bought my daughter a keychain Simon a long time ago. I’m amazed at how much we played it – it’s addictive. When my five year old grandson came for a visit, he found it and started playing. I had to search to find him one because he loved it so much!

More games for the road are “I Spy” and Mad Libs.
