2 Homemade Pizza Recipes for Family Night

Our family has a few meal traditions like many such as Taco Night or Pizza Night. Not only are traditions like this great for family time, the food is delicious too. We love doing pizza night at my house and that doesn’t mean going out and buying the pizza. I make my own and it is easy and fun too.

Making pizza is not hard. The worst part is the dough. But there are plenty of options, if you don’t make your own. You can find boxed pizza crust, some in the refrigerator case and even some crusts in the bread aisle like the Boboli or something similar. Thin cut bagels even make a great base for a pizza and fun for kids. They can even create their own which involves them in the kitchen and they are more than likely to eat more veggies too!
2 Homemade Pizza Recipes for Family Night
Here are 2 recipes I created the other night on our Pizza Night that I wanted to share with you. Save some money and have some fun!

Pepperoni, Sausage, Olive and Garlic Pizza Recipe

Pizza Crust
Olive Oil
Sliced Pepperoni
Cooked Sausage, Crumbled
Chopped Olives
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Tomato Sauce
Garlic, crushed or Granulated
Basil

I don’t have amounts listed here because it is random – just use as much as you enjoy

Directions:

Follow the directions for preparing your dough and making your crust. Set your oven to the proper temp for baking the pizza. Take your pizza crust and pour a slight amount of Olive Oil on your crust and take a brush and coat your entire pizza dough. This is really good if you have a garlic infused oil.

Start building the ingredients by pouring a small amount of tomato sauce on the crust. Use the brush to evenly distribute it. Lay out your pepperoni slices and toss on your cooked sausage crumbles. Add a few sprinkles of chopped olives and cover the pizza with the cheese. Top it with your crushed garlic or garlic powder and fresh or dried basil. Cook it in the oven for the recommended time your crust directions says. Remove it, cut and enjoy!

Sausage, Olive, Mushroom and Tomato Pizza Recipe

Pizza Crust
Olive Oil
Cooked Sausage, Crumbled
Fresh Mushrooms, sliced and cooked in butter w. garlic and parsley
Roma Tomato, sliced
Chopped Olives
Shredded or sliced Mozzarella Cheese
Tomato Sauce
Garlic, crushed or Granulated
Basil

Directions:
This is basically the same ingredients with the exception of no pepperoni, adding a tomato and cooking some fresh mushrooms down. Layer your pizza in the same fashion: Coat the crust with olive oil, add tomato sauce and spread it over the crust. Add your meat, mushrooms, olives and lay your tomato slices on. Cover with cheese and top with seasonings. Bake and devour!

Tip: The fresh ingredients really make a difference in the flavor. Take the few seconds to cook some sausage and mushrooms, adding flavor as you go.

I love pizza in any form. I male them with tomato sauce or white sauce, with meat 7/or with vegetables. Usually the only thing I don’t change is the cheese – most often mozzarella

  2. I usually use dough from the refrigerator case to make pizza. It is very easy to make your own pizza instead of ordering out. Fresh mozzarella is the best.
