July 4th. The recognized birthday of our Country with the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776 – The Want, Will and Hopes of the People!
Have you ever read the Declaration of Independence? Is was a huge step for these founders of the original 13 colonies and states to craft and sign this for the people. My favorite part is the last sentence – And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.
Signed by the representatives of the 13 colonies and states.
(Including one of my husbands forefathers Charles Carroll of Carrollton from Maryland)
Today 236 years later, we are still upholding and celebrating the signing of our Independence. Indeed it has become the backbone of our country. Today when we celebrate, it is with fireworks, parties, food, family and fun. But don’t forget that in the minds of all Americans should be the pledge to support each other and our country in times of strife.
Hope you and your family have a fabulous 4th of July!
Happy July 4th Everyone!
Thanks Diane! Happy 4th of July!
Amen to that! Well, said! Yes, we do need to support one another. The world would be a much happier place if we thought of others as much as we do ourselves. Thank you for posting this. I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July. I intend too! =)
