I was lucky to be able to spend some time with my family over the holidays this year. While I planning to drive to my Dads and visit with everyone there, weather permitting, he fell ill and I had to fly there to take care …
This week I am on vacation with my wonderful hubby down at the Jersey Shore and having a fabulous time! We have been hitting the beach every day, enjoying fabulous seafood, taking beach walks and just relaxing! When we were down in June…we acted like …
For our Almost Wordless Wednesday, we are taking a trip to the wine country. No, not Napa, although that is famous for its fabulous grapes and just a 2.5 hour drive from me. Nope, we are visiting Madera in the Central Valley. The valley is also known for its wonderful grapes and in fact it is home to the famous Gallo wine company as well as several others. Ever hear of Sunmaid Raisins? They are right here in this area too.
This year the grapes are hanging heavy with fruit and it is almost harvest time. Delicious sweet and tangy grapes of all varieties are grown in California. Here is a shot of a typical grape vine. Some of these vines can get to 40 years old or more and still produce fabulous fruits, if they are well taken care of. Most of the farms here take excellent care of their grape vines.

We are actually in an area between 2 mountain ranges that creates a bowl effect in the valley here. But within this valley is nice farmland that allows for amazing varieties of fruits, veggies and other crops to be plentiful.
Pistachios are a large crop in this area and one day as my hubby and I were coming home from the “city”, we took some of the back roads home and I decided to do a tour of California crops for you all, since most of our readers are from other parts on the US. Today I am going to feature a few pictures of a Pistachio tree so you can see how they are grown and how pretty they are! Hope you Enjoy!

Over the next few weeks I will share more images of the California Crops. Follow us on Almost Wordless Wednesday!
For our almost Wordless Wednesday post today I am sharing another photo with all of you that I took while on vacation back in early June. As you all know, hubby and I were down at the Jersey Shore (Wildwood to be exact) and spent …
My husband and I love observing wildlife in their natural habitats and this picture is one we took while down at the Jersey Shore. It was shot at a marsh that is located in Cape May, New Jersey. We believe they are Canadian Geese, at …
