Veteran’s Memorial – Navy Sailor Statue in Wildwood

Veteran’s Memorial – Navy Sailor Statue in Wildwood

We were down in Wildwood a few weeks ago and guess what we saw? Yup, a new Veteran’s Memorial that is in a little walkway park called Memory Lane. Along the path they have placards with the names of veterans that they’re honoring from the

During the Fall season we like to take our grandchildren out for some festive Autumn activities. Those activities include: Hayrides, Corn Mazes, Haunted Houses, Apple Picking, Fall Foliage Drives & Walks, a visit to the Pumpkin Patch, etc. The kids look forward to the activities

Outdoor Street Art at Schellingers Restaurant in Wildwood

Outdoor Street Art at Schellingers Restaurant in Wildwood

While on vacation we decided to order a take-out dinner from a restaurant called Schellingers in Wildwood, New Jersey. This restaurant is known for having some of the best steaks and seafood on the entire Wildwood island. Why take-out? Well, we were down on vacation during the pandemic, so we couldn’t dine-in. Otherwise…we would of!

We were really impressed with their menu offerings and both ordered seafood dinners. We shared them once back at our motel with one another so that we could try everything out. Delicious! We will definitely be eating there again.

Anyway, I snapped a quick picture of all of the cool street art at Schellingers! It’s really something you need to see! It goes around the entire walls of the building and check out all of those coastal scenes on top of the roof!  We only got to see a very small section of the restaurant inside and that was beautifully decorated & decked out too!

The restaurant is located on Schellingers Avenue in Wildwood, New Jersey. Yes…they have an entire avenue named after their restaurant and I can totally see why! The building itself is eye catching and an attraction all to itself! The next time we go down & get dinner from Schellingers hopefully we’ll be able to dine-in and I’ll get pictures of that. It’s very cool.

Beautiful Springtime Sunsets in Pennsylvania

Beautiful Springtime Sunsets in Pennsylvania

Well, we all got through another long winter season and springtime is finally here. On the first official day of winter…I always start counting down the days until the official start of spring. I hate winter…enough said. During the springtime I enjoy having my windows

Old-Fashioned Small Town Diners

Old-Fashioned Small Town Diners

How many of you enjoy dining from time to time at an old-fashioned diner? I know they’re more common in small towns and we often look for them when we’re traveling. In the northeast you can still find a good diner. When it comes to

Let’s Talk Baseball! Family Fun at a Phillies Game

Let’s Talk Baseball! Family Fun at a Phillies Game

Phillies Baseball Game in PhiladelphiaEvery year we obtain a family pack of tickets to go down to Philadelphia to take in a professional MLB game featuring our beloved Phillies. And I don’t feel like this is a tradition that is about to change – I imagine we’ll still be looking for baseball tickets 2022, and beyond! When we typically go, we try to plan our visit on the weekend and spend a night in Philly, so that we can visit the Philadelphia Zoo too.

The Phillies play their games at Citizen Bank Park and it’s really easy to get to. We take the Pennsylvania turnpike down until we hit the Schuylkill Expressway and take that through the city until we hit the exit for the ballpark.

Anyway, I think the best time to take small children along with you is during a daytime hours game. We’ve been down for evening games and those games tend to get very rowdy and can be extremely crowded. So, if you plan on going, I recommend an afternoon game during the week or weekend. Just my 2 cents on that!

Philly Phanatic at Phillies Baseball Game

When we take the kids down with us to see a baseball game they really look forward to seeing the Philly Phanatic who is the team’s mascot. I’m not sure who “plays” the Philly Phanatic, but he or she is extremely funny and entertaining. The kids love seeing the Phanatic in action!

Even though we typically do a travel feature on a Wednesday, I wanted to share some photos with you from a Phillies baseball game that we recently attended. It’s a lot of fun for families to enjoy, especially if you love the game of baseball.

The Goodyear Blimp

The Goodyear Blimp

How many of you follow the activities of the various Goodyear Blimps? Personally, I normally don’t pay attention to it…unless it’s flying around my home city or if it’s up in the skies above me while I’m attending an event. In the past year…we’ve been

Assateague and Chincoteague Islands in Virginia

Assateague and Chincoteague Islands in Virginia

Back in early July we had the opportunity to visit Assateague Island and Chincoteague Island in the beautiful state of Virginia. Both of these islands are barrier islands along the north eastern coast of the state. If you ask me, they are the prettiest coastal
