My husband and I are getting ready to go on our 4th vacation this year and we are going to be heading back down to the Jersey Shore. This time around we will be spending 10 days down there and taking in a lot of the sites and sounds that the Jersey Shore has to offer.
I am going to do some shopping over the next few days as I am looking for comfortable shoes for women, at least 2 pairs and I would like to have 2 or 3 maxi dresses to take on my trip. Last week I found a beautiful maxi skirt and 3 nice shirts, but I still need several other items for our upcoming trip.
As you all know, we were just down there in early June and going back down there next month. This time around we are going to visit the local Aquarium, the Wildlife Park, the Sea Bird Sanctuary, the Coast Guard Museum and several other places.
We are going to do a slew of walking and this time I want to be prepared for it. I was thinking about getting a pair of sandals with orthotic insoles and perhaps a pair of walking shoes or walking sneakers. The last time we were down there my legs ached and ached for days because I didn’t have good walking shoes with me.
I figured that I could wear the comfortable sandals during the day while we are over on the beach and wear the walking shoes/sneakers when we go out touring all of the sites. Perhaps I should look into getting hubby some new shoes too!
When it comes to shopping for comfortable shoes, what particular styles do you like to buy? Got any favorite brands? Any tips or suggestions for me?

My family has been a huge fan of the company Hanes and we have been wearing their underwear, socks and undershirts for many years. With all of that said, I never thought of going to Hanes for my family’s summer tees and tank shirts until now!
Some of you know that I have a lot of chronic health problems and have endured over 45 surgeries in my lifetime. All of that has left me with very sensitive skin and a lot of ugly surgical scars. Buying t-shirts, tanks, underwear and undershirts has been a huge problem for me the past few years. I want my shirts to be loose fitting, super soft, tagless and I need the neckline to be higher cut so that my upper chest scars don’t show. Shopping these days has been extremely frustrating for me.
The great folks over at Hanes sent me a few items to review for all of you and let me just say…I am in LOVE with them all!
First up, they sent me 2 women’s tank tops that are made out of 100% ribbed cotton. They are tagless, machine washable, have a scoop neckline and the arm holes are on the larger size. I wear a lot of tank shirts all year long…in the summer I like them while working out or underneath a short sleeve shirt and in the winter I like them under sweaters, long sleeve shirts and I love to wear them with my pajamas underneath a bed jacket. Having the larger arm holes is important to me since my arms swell up often and at times I am on IV medications and we can slip the IV bottle in/out of the arm holes easily. (sorry, that is a lot of personal info but I know there are millions of other medical patients out there who face the same issues as me when it comes to clothing). Another thing I like about these tanks is that they are of longer length…great for layering and when you bend down to get something they are not riding up! LOVE THEM!
Next up, they sent me a 3-pack of their women’s V-Neck Tees to review for all of you. The tees that I received are from their ComfortSoft Tops line and let me tell you, they are indeed super soft! They are made out of 100% cotton, machine washable, have short sleeves, longer torso length, higher-cut v-neckline and have a loser fit. Just the way I like my summer tees! They are tagless and you can wear them alone or use them for layering, I like to wear them both ways! As I previously stated, I avoid anything low-cut as it shows off my scars so I like high-cut scoop-neck or v-neck tees which are hard to find. I also don’t want boxy looking men’s tees and these tees are perfectly cut for the woman’s figure but yet are not body hugging. LOVE THEM!
I have been wearing my new tank tops and v-neck tees for over a week now and I couldn’t be happier with them! I love them so much that I am going to hit my local store next week to look for them and if I don’t find them there, I will certainly buy them from the Hanes web site store! Their prices and quality just can’t be beat!
Thank you Hanes for making me smile again with some great new tees and tank tops in my summer wardrobe! Hanes is my family’s go-to company for tees, tanks, undershirts, undies and socks!
