If you are a woman looking to buy a jacket, it is much easier said than done. The amount of choices can seem completely overwhelming. It is much more difficult for a woman to shop for a jacket than it is for a man. For the most part, men’s jackets are very simple and straightforward. Also, men do not get judged on their sense of style as much as women do. Therefore, it is important for women to be ahead of the game in terms of the latest fashion trends and styles. That having been said, women should still put in the time that it takes to do a thorough amount of research before they commit to buying a jacket. Here are some tips about how to select a woman’s jacket.
1. Where will you be wearing the jacket?
This is a very important consideration because different social situations and environments call for different styles of jackets. For example, if you are looking for a jacket that you will be wearing to your job in a formal office environment, you will want something that looks professional and commands respect from the people you work with. If you live in a climate that is cold for a large portion of the year, you should definitely put the warmth factor ahead of how the jacket looks. That is not to say that you should settle for a jacket that you do not find visually appealing. However, you do not want to freeze in the dead of winter just for the sake of looking good.
3. Functionality
What do you want the jacket to be able to do? Do you require a large amount of pockets to carry your iPod or a bottle of water? Do you want the jacket to be reversible? You will need to answer questions like these before you start shopping.

Every year for Valentine’s Day hubby and I go out for a romantic dinner for two. Once we return back home, we change out of our dress clothes and into something more comfortable.
