Think about your banquet space
One of your first considerations has to be your wedding banquet space. In an ideal world, you want a space that is stunning, matches your theme, and is big enough to comfortably fit all of your guests in without issue. A venue that supplies in-house catering can also help to prevent you from dealing with plenty of other headaches.
Yet an ideal world is sometimes not possible, and concessions have to be made. This could have an impact on how your menu is served. For example, a lack of space may affect how your food is served, or a lack of on-site kitchen facilities will see you have to bring your food in via other means.
On-site or off-site catering
Extending on from the previous point, if you have the choice between on-site or off-site catering, there are certain aspects to think about. Will the on-site caterers accommodate your food requests? Do they have overwhelmingly positive reviews from past customers, or are there a worrying number of negative scores interspersed with their five-star feedback?
If you decide to opt for off-site catering, this opens the door to a lot more choices. There will be various options to pick from, and it is much easier to find a caterer that best matches your tastes and requirements. However, logistically it can throw in a few concerns, the type most people want to avoid on their big day.
Think about your budget
If money was no issue, everyone would love to go with an extravagant menu that spares no expense. However, this is only viable for a select few, with everyone else having to carefully think about their budget. This is particularly the case if you have a significant number of guests attending your wedding – even a relatively small budget per head can quickly add up to something expensive.
A menu all will enjoy
Even if you have an eclectic palate and you prefer more exotic dishes compared to the standard fare, you have to think about your guests.
