Family Fun at Prof. Hacker’s Lost Treasure Mini Golf

Family Fun at Prof. Hacker’s Lost Treasure Mini Golf

Prof. Hacker's Lost Treasure Mini GolfLast weekend we took a day trip down to Lancaster County in Pennsylvania. We toured an Amish farm, visited a farmer’s market, an outlet mall and played a game of miniature golf at Professor Hacker’s Lost Treasure Golf and Maze. It’s located right along route 30…convenient location if your visiting one of the outlet malls.

Prof. Hacker’s Lost Treasure Mini Golf has 2 different 18-hole mini golf courses for you to choose from. We’ve played both courses before and both are equally fun! It’s a beautifully landscaped course with some water features. Some of the holes are fairly easy, while others a little more challenging.

One of the unique things you’ll find at this course is that every day they select a new mystery magic hole. After you’re done playing they’ll let you know which hole it was. If you putted a hole-in-one on that particular hole you’ll win a free game. Just remember…it changes daily.

During the busy summer tourist season they can get fairly busy…especially during the weekends. If you want to avoid the crowds try to go during their off-peak hours. We played with our 2 children (a party of 4), so it took us about 75 minutes to get through the course. We took our time and really enjoyed it.

The Trostletown Covered Bridge

The Trostletown Covered Bridge

Last month we took a road trip through western Pennsylvania…focusing on small towns and country roads. We wanted to see small towns and the interesting things that they have to offer. While passing through Somerset County we visited the Trostletown Covered Bridge. This old wooden

Shopping at the Olde Factory Antiques and Crafts Store

Shopping at the Olde Factory Antiques and Crafts Store

My wife and I enjoy visiting antique stores locally and when we travel. With that said, we don’t visit junk stores that are dirty and disorganized. We like visiting the ones that take PRIDE in the items that they’re offering as well as keeping those

Relax and Unwind at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse

Relax and Unwind at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse

Hereford Inlet LighthouseOne of my favorite lighthouses in the state of New Jersey is the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse. Unlike other ones located in the state…this one looks unique. It’s done in a traditional Victorian style. Most lighthouses are done in the standard conical shape. It’s a beautiful place to visit when down in Wildwood or Cape May.

It’s open seasonally and their hours of operation do vary. The grounds of the lighthouse are open year-round and are free to visit. You can visit the botanical gardens and mini butterfly garden which are located out back. Please stay on the walking trail when visiting. There’s a gazebo and a few park benches if you want to sit down to relax.

Hereford Inlet Lighthouse

You can get to the North Wildwood Seawall by walking through the botanical gardens. Once up on the seaswall you’ll find the prettiest views of the Hereford Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean. You can sit and take-in the beauty or take a long walk down the seawall. It’s the prettiest place on the entire island.

If you want to take a tour inside the lighthouse you’ll have to pay an admission fee for that. Ther’s a little gift shop (very little) where you can pick up a few souvenirs. When we did the tour it was over and done with…within 20 minutes, so it doesn’t take a lot of time. It’s okay and you learn about the history of the lighthouse along with it’s keepers.

We try to visit the lighthouse 1-2 times every year to see what’s new. Mostly…we go just to enjoy the botanical gardens and to walk up onto the seawall.  Oh yeah….I got sunburn the day before we visited…hence staying off the beach and doing something else!
