Our Thoughts: We sat down with our 3 year old grand daughter and our 6 year old god son to watch this brand new DVD. We watched all 6 episodes in one afternoon (total running time is 52 minutes) and the kid’s had a blast watching it. Little G is usually scared of anything having to do with Halloween…but this DVD makes Halloween non-scary and fun! Her favorite episode from the DVD was Bob the Builder – Trix’s Pumpkin Pie and Little C loved the Thomas & Friends – Duncan Gets Spooked.

The story lines with each episode is fabulous and very fun & entertaining. The kids were glued to the TV and laughed several times. They know almost all of the characters by name and really enjoyed viewing the DVD. As Halloween approaches this year, I am sure the two kids will watch the DVD a few more times. A nice addition to your child’s video library!

My Review: For our review we were sent the “Candy Construction Building Set” by Learning Resources. This building play set is for kids ages 4 and up and in grades K and up. The set contains 92 pieces and some of them are small so any kids under the age of 4 should be monitored while playing with this set.

The 92-Piece Set Includes: 8 large swirl sticks, 8 medium swirl sticks, 16 small swirl sticks, 4 bendy twists, 8 green & 8 blue connectors, 4 orange & 4 purple drops, 4 red, 4 green &  4  yellow disks, 4 chocolate panels, 8 red & 8 green swirl connectors plus instructions. Everything is nicely packaged in a reusable storage box.

First of all, this building set is just way too cute! It reminds me of old-fashioned candy that you see in old-fashioned candy stores! Wow, that just brought back some good memories for me!

Little G is a little over 3 years of age and even though she no longer puts things in her mouth, I did make sure that we were monitoring her play time with this set since she is under the age of 4. (better safe, than sorry). My hubby got down on the floor with her and showed her all of the different building pieces. They then decided on what they wanted to build and he assisted her with building it.

What was really fun was that he quizzed her along the way asking her what color such & such piece was, what kind of candy was it and so forth. These type of building sets spark their creativity but…they are also great for  being a fun educational tool. In addition, it’s easy to keep clean and every other week I like to wipe down her toys with a soapy wet cloth to remove dirt and germs. The pieces are a hard sturdy plastic so you can keep them clean & germ-free!

Since receiving this Candy Construction Building Set, Little G and my hubby have been playing with it almost daily. Seriously, this building set is one of their favorite things to do together! We love it!
