Say Goodbye to Blotchy Skin with The A Method Skin Perfecting Serum

Say Goodbye to Blotchy Skin with The A Method Skin Perfecting Serum

I’m always interested in the next big thing when it comes to skincare and I recently was got a preview of coming attractions—Tranexamic Acid. This skincare ingredient is proving to be incredibly effective for minimizing hyperpigmentation, which is caused by an increase in melanin, the substance in the body that is responsible for color (pigment). The A Method Skin Perfecting Serum is a new product from The A Method that was created to minimize those unwanted dark spots and hyperpigmentation.

Whether you are experiencing hyperpigmentation due to a health condition or simply have “age spots” that are the result of sun exposure, The A Method Skin Perfecting Serum can help brighten the skin and even out skin tone.

The A Method Skin Perfecting Serum

Created by celebrity dermatologist, Dr. Tina Alster, The A Method Skin Perfecting Serum is formulated with a 10% Tranexamic Acid complex plus five other pigment correcting, skin brightening ingredients. This serum will help to tighten, improve texture, tone and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores. Skin Perfecting Serum also helps stimulate natural collagen production. According Dr. Alster, “Tranexamic Acid is a powerhouse skin lightening ingredient that is as effective as Hydroquinone but has a much better safety profile. It evens out skin tone with little to no irritation or peeling and plays well with other active ingredients such as Vitamin C and retinol.”

Studies have revealed that Tranexamic Acid slows down the production of melanin and can even block the transfer of pigment from melanocytes to keratinocytes. For anyone that is facing uneven, blotchy skin, this product is a game changer. Tranexamic Acid provides an optimal environment for healthy skin to fight off free radical damage and other stressors—pesky culprits that often may cause additional pigmentation.

This product is suitable for all skin types and can be used during pregnancy. It is recommended to use the serum twice daily—and while it’s ideal for the face, it can also be used on other body areas underneath a moisturizer. It feels light on the skin and absorbs quickly. I’ve been using on some discolored areas on my hands and it seems be lightening up those troublesome spots.
In addition to the star of the show—Tranexamic Acid—The A Method Skin Perfecting Serum contains several other key ingredients:

* Trichloroacetic Acid
* Phytic Acid
* Glycolic Acid
* Salicylic Acid
* Gluconolactone

The serum is also paraben-free, dermatologist tested, non-comedogenic, cruelty-free, fragrance-free, gluten-free and vegan. For maximum results, apply after cleansing twice daily (morning and night). Then, follow with your favorite moisturizer. This serum actually helps to increase the effectiveness and absorption of your usual regimen products.

The A Method Skin Perfecting Serum is available on the company’s website. For more information on The A Method, follow the company on Facebook and Instagram.

6 Signs You’re Using the Wrong Products for Your Skin

6 Signs You’re Using the Wrong Products for Your Skin

As the pandemic raged outside, many of us pressed play on our self-love playlists, selected the right essential oils to set the mood, and disappeared beneath a fog of beauty products whenever we needed to shut the world out for a few minutes.

Though this led to many a well-deserved moment of relaxation, it also led to many people discovering that their skincare choices just weren’t working out for them, even when the products had glowing reviews.

6 Signs You’re Using the Wrong Products for Your Skin

If you’re wondering whether one of the products you use is messing up your skin, look out for the following signs:

1. Dry, Peeling Skin

Using the wrong products on your skin can trigger an existing (but hidden) condition. This often manifests as super dry and peeling skin or excessively oily skin. Some people have naturally dry skin, but if your skin hurts or is peeling, this could show that the products you’re applying are too acidic or harsh.

2. Unusual Breakouts

It’s important to know what’s “normal” for your skin. If, for example, breakouts occur in spots at certain times of the month (and this happens regardless of the products you’re using), a breakout may not be due to a new skincare product.

However, if noticeable breakouts happen that aren’t “normal” after using new skincare products, the ingredients may have something to do with it. It’s important to give the skin time to adjust to a new routine, and breakouts are relatively common when introducing certain products. However, if the problem persists, it may be time to change your products and possibly even see a dermatologist.

3. Sudden Rashes

Rashes can be caused by many different things, but allergic reactions are a common factor. Breaking out with a rash demands a visit to a dermatologist to provide an allergy patch test. This way, it’s easier to pinpoint the problematic ingredient when purchasing new makeup, fragrances, or skincare products.

4. Excessive Oil

As with dry skin, oily skin is a natural state for some people. However, if you notice excess oil after using new skincare products, it could be due to the wrong combination of ingredients for your skin type.

Skin has a natural layer of oil for protection, acting as a barrier. Some products strip that oil away, forcing the body to create excess amounts, almost as if it were in damage mode. If this happens, search for products that boost hydration without incorporating added oil.

5. Pain, Burning, or Stinging

Many people believe that stinging means the product is working. There’s little truth in this, so it’s crucial to distinguish the difference between a tingling sensation and a straight-up burn or sting.

A lot of skincare products create a tingling sensation, but this should leave quickly after it’s applied. If, however, the skin is still burning, stinging, or feels hot to the touch hours after using a product, this is a sure sign that it shouldn’t be used again.

Even cosmetic tattooing can be achieved without pain, so if your beauty products are hurting you, that’s a good sign to stop!

6. Breaking Out In Hives

Hives should never be ignored as they indicate an extreme allergic reaction to a product, usually one that’s fragranced. If hives occur, stop using the product and visit a dermatologist.

Creating the perfect beauty routine is great for self-care and the health of your skin. However, it’s crucial to use products that compliment the natural state of your complexion. To avoid a negative reaction, look out for the above signs, and always do a patch test for allergies before applying new products.
