Romeo Just Turned 6 Months Old

Romeo Just Turned 6 Months Old

Romeo March 2020On December 21st, 2019 we adopted a 3 month old kitten who we named Romeo. He was in his 2nd foster home and needed a forever home when he came into our lives. You can read my FIRST POST on his adoption to learn more about it. We named him Romeo (he’s a lover, not a fighter) and call him MOE for short.

Romeo recently turned 6 months old and I wanted to give you all an update on our beloved little boy! Yes, we love him, we spoil him and he’s a valuable member of our family. We’re empty nesters, so we have a lot of time to spend with him. Trust me, he loves being the center of our attention. He’s always with one of us! Always!

During the first 3 months he has adjusted nicely to our schedule and routine. He gets up to start his day and goes to bed with us every night. Like clockwork! He has established his favorite “nap places” throughout the house. He has his own bed in our living room, family room and in our bedroom. I admit though, he primarily sleeps at the foot of the bed.

Romeo March 2020

Since he’s still a kitten he loves to play! He enjoys mylar crinkle balls, running through collapsible tunnels, laying inside large baskets & boxes, loves to sit in front of a large window looking outside at the birds and LOVES the laser pointer. Okay, he loves most cat toys! He gets 1 treat every day, usually in the afternoon which he really looks forward to.

Our little boy goes to see the Vet on a monthly basis for a monthly check-up and then enjoys kitty spa where he gets a massage, a bath, his ears & nose cleaned and his nails clipped. We opted to do the humane thing of getting his nails trimmed every month as we don’t believe in de-clawing. He’s a good boy at all of his appointments and has never needed medicated. They adore our handsome boy too!

As a chronically ill patient Romeo has brought so much love, comfort and joy into my life. He’s my constant companion. He keeps me company, gives me unconditional love and makes me laugh on a daily basis. I never realized I could love an animal as much as I love this handsome guy!

Well, there you have it! My quarterly update on how Romeo is doing and you can see for yourself that he’s growing into quite a handsome man! We love him!

How to Clean Your Pet Carrier and Why You Should Keep it Clean

How to Clean Your Pet Carrier and Why You Should Keep it Clean

A year ago we became pet parents for the first time. In April 2019 we rescued and adopted an adult male cat. Then in December 2019 we rescued and adopted a small kitten. Over the course of a year we learned a lot about how

Foods You Cannot Feed Your Dog

Foods You Cannot Feed Your Dog

If you want to keep your dog healthy and fit, then feeding him the right foods is one of the most important things you should do. Most dog owners don’t pay proper attention to the food items that their dog is consuming. For instance, if

Vent: Please Clean-Up After Your Dog!

Please Clean-Up After Your Dog!How many of you are dog owners? We don’t own a dog but we do help to take care of our grand-dog. We’re 100% dog lovers and if we had the time…we would definitely own one.

With that said…we’re pretty disgusted with the laziness that we see with dog owners in our neighborhood. We often see them out walking their dogs and letting them take a crap in everyone’s front yard, on the sidewalks, the side of the street, etc. I understand you can’t control where your dog decides to take a poop…but you can certainly CLEAN UP AFTER THEM!!!

Several neighbors in my development who don’t own dogs have complained to the township about the lazy dog owners in our neighborhood. Those complaints haven’t improved the situation. A few of us went out and purchase yard signs that state you have to clean-up the dog waste and/or signs that state dogs are not permitted on their yard/property, etc. Again, this hasn’t helped either.

Over the past 8 weeks I’ve actually photographed a few of these “bad neighbors” allowing their dogs to crap in our yards and on the public sidewalks and turned those photos into the township. Again, that hasn’t yielded any positive results! Ugh.

No Dog Poop Sign

We’re really fed up with this now…so every time I catch one of the “bad neighbors” allowing their pooch to crap on my property I go outside and confront them. Yup, that’s what I’ve been doing. I don’t care if they now consider me the neighborhood b*tch or the old mean lady who lives down the street. Screw them! These pet owners are lazy and disrespectful to their fellow neighbors for the simple fact that this is going on and they know we’re fed up with it.

I told my husband that pretty soon I’m going to go the PUBLIC SHAMING route if these “bad neighbors” don’t get their act together by posting their “bad act” photographs on my Facebook page and Twitter feed. Perhaps that would stop it, but I doubt it.

How many of you have ever dealt with a situation like this? If you have…how did you resolve it? I’m fed up with it!!!

Three Ways to be a Responsible Pet Owner

Three Ways to be a Responsible Pet Owner

Many of us love animals – and are lucky enough to share our lives with a furry, feathered or scaly friend. We like to think that we are taking care of them properly, but are we doing the very best job that we can? Having
