Today I have a wonderful product and company to tell you about if you own a dog who loves to eat organic dog treats and that company is called Newman’s Own Organics. I think that post people know that Newman’s Own Organics as a line of products for us human but what I didn’t know until I did this review is that they also have a line of organic pet products for cats and dogs. All of their pet products are certified USDA organic.

My Review: I was sent 2 bags of Newman’s Own Organics dog treats to feed to my grand puppy for this product review. We received 1 bag of the Beef & Vegetable Recipe dog treats and 1 bag of the Chicken, Lamb & Barley dog treats. What is really impressive with these dog treats is that they are made with organic ingredients and contain no wheat or corn products. Each of the dog treat bags that I received contain 10 oz. of yummy treats for Miss Nellari’s snacks. We decided to try out the Beef & Vegetable recipe first and let me tell you…I gave her one treat and within seconds she had devoured it and sat “pretty” for me waiting for me to give her another one. I of course decided to make her give me her “paw” and to “shake hands” with me first before I gave her treat #2 and #3. She loved them so much that I ended up giving her a 4th treat before I got her interested in playing ball with me. (had to distract her otherwise she would of eaten the entire bag).

Later that evening we decided to give her 2 treats from the Chicken, Lamb and Barley recipe variety and those went over just as well. Miss Nellari is 1/2 pit bull and 1/2 Siberian Husky and she can be a very picky eater at times…but I will admit, she loved these Newman’s Own Organic Dog Treats! If I had to guess (guessing on her behalf), I would say that she preferred the Beef & Vegetable variety the best although she chomped both varieties down pretty quickly! Next time I head to the grocery store, I want to look for their peanut butter flavor and their salmon and sweet potato treats so I can have another play date with her. Yes folks, I do have play dates with our grand puppy while our daughter works!

Overall Impression: Both of the varieties of Newman’s Own Organic dog treats that we tried out here in our own home were a big hit with our grand puppy. With that said, I will be purchasing more for her when I go shopping! I would rather feed our best furry friend organic foods and treats than store bought junk that is not healthy for them. All you pet lovers are going to be loving this!! I am mom to 3 male cats (don’t ask about that decision) and 1 large dog so I know what shedding can be like. And with wood floors, I have seen clumps of hair floating before. So I was totally excited to get to review this product for you!

The FURminator is am awesome shedding tool that has been created and developed by professional groomer Angela Porter and her husband David back in 2002. This tool is cool! Created for different sized animals and different hair lenghts, the FURminator has a tool just for your pet. Long hair, short hair,dog, cat, puppy or kitten. They recognize that not all pets are a like and one deshedders cannot work on every type of pet.

The Review

Because I have 3 cats, I was sent the Large Cat, Short Hair tool. This is for fur lenght of 2″ or shorter and over 10lbs. This thing is wonderful! It is curved to fit in your hand perfectly so it is comfortable to use. The blade is long enough to reach all the way down to the base coat and what I love the most is it has a hair ejector button so I am not having to pull the fur out of the blade. Too cool!

The cats didn’t hate it, which is nice as we brush them every so often anyway. But my big Tom Cat was not totally amused either. He tolerated it. He didn’t want to look too pretty so the other cats would call him names and stuff. It can get ugly around here… LOL But honestly, the tool worked wonderfully. I was able to remove gobs of hair off of them all and that makes me happy. Less to clean up later. And I love that there should be less hairballls as well as a 90% reduction in shedding! YAY
