Miniature Statue of Liberty in Dauphin Pennsylvania

Miniature Statue of Liberty in Dauphin Pennsylvania

Miniature Statue of Liberty in Dauphin PennsylvaniaThis miniature (not so mini) Statue of Liberty is located in Dauphin, Pennsylvania. If you’re driving down routes 322/22 toward’s Harrisburg you should be able to see it out your car window to your right. It’s on a stone column from an old railroad bridge in the middle of the Susquehanna River.

It stands 25 feet tall and is a replica of the original Statue of Liberty. It’s only accessible by small boat if you want to see it close-up and personal. Routes 322/22 is a BUSY highway and it’s really hard to pullover to the side of the road to get a decent photograph of it. If that’s your intentions, you’ll want to try it during non-prime traveling hours. Otherwise, use the zoom feature on your camera to zoom in for a quick shot as your passing by.

Over the years the Dauphin Statue of Liberty has become quite the roadside attraction. We often see travelers who are passing through trying to grab a photograph of it. It’s one of those things that you would never expect to see out in the middle of the Susquehanna River!

Happy Independence Day America July 4th

Happy Independence Day America July 4th

Happy Independence Day July 4thCan you believe that it’s July 4th, 2024 already? Summer is flying by at a quick pace. July 4th is a day that my family always looks forward to. We host a backyard barbecue and swimming pool party. We serve all kinds of great tasting food, drinks, swim and we have at least 5 different outdoor games set up in our backyard. That’s not including the swingset, sand box and stuff for the kids to do. It’s a day for a lot of fun and family bonding time.

Last weekend though…we took our kids to a local community center to listen to a talk about the birth of our nation and how July 4th, Independence Day came to be. Afterwards we headed to a local cemetery to place wreaths and flags on veteran’s graves. It’s always important to teach our kids at a very early age the TRUE history about our country and how they must show respect for our veterans. Freedom isn’t free and it always comes at a cost.

Anyway, Happy Independce Day! Hope you enjoy the time with your loved ones.
