Movie Review: Bad Moms – Starring Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis

Movie Review: Bad Moms – Starring Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis

Movie Review: Bad Moms on DVDHow many of you enjoy a good comedy, especially one that features an all-star leading female cast? If you do, you’ll want to check out the newly released movie titled: Bad Moms ~ starring Mila Kunis, Christinia Applegate, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn. The blu-ray and DVD was available for purchase starting on November 1st, 2016. Here’s some information about it.

Movie Synopsis: In this hilarious and heartfelt comedy from the writing duo behind The Hangover, Amy (Mila Kunis) has a seemingly perfect life – a great marriage, over-achieving kids, beautiful home and a career. However, she’s over-worked, over-committed and exhausted to the point that she’s about to snap. Fed up, she joins forces with two other over-stressed moms (Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn) on a quest to liberate themselves from conventional responsibilities – going on a wild, un-mom-like binge of long overdue freedom, fun and self-indulgence – putting them on a collision course with PTA Queen Bee Gwendolyn (Christina Applegate) and her clique of devoted perfect moms (Jada Pinkett Smith and Annie Mumolo).

My Thoughts: Bad Moms – Party Like a Mother is one of those types of movies that you want to gather up all of your best girlfriends and have them over for a fun movie night. The movie stars many a-listers with names you’ll recognize (see above) and all of them do an excellent acting job in this movie. Matter of fact, you can really tell that these women (actors) mesh well together and obviously worked well together since this is one of the funniest movies I’ve seen all year.

The story line is one that I think many of us can relate to. I know I personally go through weeks where I’m stressed out, feel very unappreciated and well…I just need a fun break from it all. These women really let lose and do so in a very humorous way! They will have you laughing many times throughout the movie.

So…grab your best girlfriends, pop some popcorn and grab a glass of wine. You’ll love BAD MOMS and it makes for a great movie for girlfriends night-in!

Papa: Hemingway in Cuba – Movie Review

Ernest Hemingway was one of the most famous writers in the entire world. When I was in high school and during my early college years, I remember that a lot of our writing assignments would center around Mr. Hemingway and his writing. From that time

Movie Review - ICE GIRLS on DVDLooking for a new flick to watch on movie night? A girl’s night-in? Got teenage daughters or granddaughters? If so, you’ll want to check out the newly released movie “ICE GIRLS”.

Synopsis: Fifteen year old aspiring figure skating champion Mattie Dane is forced to put her dreams on ice after a bad fall during a tournament, and her mother’s decision to relocate the family to a new town. But a chance encounter with the owner of a local skating rink ultimately rekindles Mattie’s passion to compete and sets up an intense rivalry with a talented classmate who’ll stop at nothing to win. This movie features legendary skating stars Elvis Stojko and Tessa Virtue, ICE GIRLS is an uplifting underdog tale that will leave you cheering.

This movie was released for purchase on DVD October 4th, 2016. It’s rated PG, so it’s a family-friendly film.

My Thoughts: My 7 1/2 year old granddaughter loves figure skating, so I sat down to watch this movie with her. At first I thought she was too young for the movie, but she surprised me and really loved the movie. It held both of our’s attention from start to finish.

The movie stars Sandra Battaglini, Michael Cleland, Brenna Coates, Natasha Henstridge and Sheila McCarthy, besides the guest appearances by Stojko and Virtue. I was unfamiliar with the majority of actors in this film, so it was nice to see some new ones hitting my viewing scene.

The story line is very entertaining, but also pretty predictable. I thought the actors did a great job at playing their particular parts and one of the best things about the movie is seeing the scenes that contain actual figure skating (huge figure skating fans!). For the most part…the film will keep you engaged with only 2-3 parts where I found that the story line was lacking & boring. With that said, I think 80% of the film is well-down, entertaining, engaging and the characters are relatable for young teenage girls.

On my movie rating scale…I give this flick 7 popcorn buckets out of 10 popcorn buckets. I think the younger you are (teenage girls to women in their 20’s) you’ll enjoy the film even more than what I did.
