Movie Review – Heart of the Country starring Jana Kramer

Heart of the Country starring Jana Kramer

Heart of the Country ~ The Inspirational Romance Debuts on DVD August 20th, 2013. Academy of Country Music’s New Female Vocalist of The Year – Jana Kramer – Makes Leading Role Debut!!!

Based on the novel by Rene Gutteridge and John Ward, Heart of the Country is a love story starring country music singer Jana Kramer (“One Tree Hill”), Randy Wayne (“True Blood”), and Gerald McRaney (“Major Dad”). Faith (Kramer) and Luke (Wayne) have it all. Faith is a beautiful singer and Luke is an up-and- coming businessman. When their life together is shattered and she is forced to return home to the family she turned her back on years ago she must find the strength to love again. Watch Jana Kramer in her first leading movie role in the year’s most inspirational and romantic movie event when it debuts on DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment on August 20th, 2013.

Rising star Jana Kramer is one to watch on and off the big screen. Selling an impressive 1.5 million tracks off her self-titled debut album, including her current single “I Hope It Rains” along with her debut hit single, “Why Ya Wanna,” Kramer was named Academy of Country Music’s New Female Vocalist of the Year for 2013.  The Heart of the Country DVD features an exclusive first look at the music video from the movie for “The First and Last Time” sung by Kramer.

Our Thoughts: A few days ago I sat down with my mother and sister to watch this DVD. Both of them are big country music fans and I thought they would really appreciate watching this movie together. The movie is based on an original novel by Rene Gutteridge and John Ward and is a love story. While it is a love story…it is not one of those “sappy” ones.

We thought the story line was pretty good and the acting & music was outstanding. There were parts in the movie that could of been better and overall it was a nice movie to watch. I do feel that they could of added a little drama and more mystery to it…which would of made the movie even better. My mom and sister gave it 2-thumbs and I gave it 1-thumbs up…but that is mainly because I am not a huge fan of romance stories.

Burn Notice: Season Six DVD Review

Burn Notice: Season Six DVD** Complimentary Copy Received for Review **

How many of you are Burn Notice and Michael Westen fans? I know that my husband and I have been big Burn Notice fans since the very first season! Well guess what? Burn Notice: Season Six is out on DVD right now and you can head to your local store and purchase it today!

If you are a fan of the show you already know that Season Seven just started and it’s the last season of the hit show! Boo! We are going to miss having Burn Notice in our lives but at least we can all relive those exciting moments by picking up the DVD collection.

Synopsis: There’s trouble in paradise for former CIA operative Michael Westen and his cohorts, and the streets of Miami are hotter ~ and deadlier than ever before in the action-packed, adrenaline-charged sixth season of Burn Notice! In hot pursuit of his old nemesis, Michael must take down Anson Fullerton and find a way to free Fiona from prison, where she is being targeted by a murderous foe. Michael goes full force to save Fiona as he takes on cold-blooded assassins, diabolical drug cartels, uneasy alliances, and explosive danger at every turn, until an unthinkable tragedy leaves him reeling and rocks his team to the very core.

Our Thoughts: When season six first started airing last year we were again watching it. However, towards the end of the season we missed the last 3-4 episodes and needed to get caught up before the final season started.

If you are a fan of this show…you know that Michael and Fiona first started out with a love-hate relationship and then finally settled on love. Michael is played by actor Jeffrey Donovan who is a fabulous actor and nice eye candy to boot! There are 4 DVDs (includes all 18 episodes) in the season six collection and what is really fun about owning the collection is that you can see some of the deleted scenes that never made it into the aired episodes!

As you can probably tell, I think Michael Westen is a hottie and of course my hubby has been in-love with Fiona for a few years now! He always tells me that he loves a good women who can kick some ass and who knows how to blow up things! LOL (yes, those are Fiona’s passions).

We were really stoked to watch the entire season six again and we loved seeing those deleted scenes. The set also includes audio commentary on the “Shock Wave” episode featuring Matt Nix, Renny Harlin, Jeffrey Donovan and Bruce Campbell.

If you are a Burn Notice fan…head on out today and pick up Season Six on DVD!
