Movie: Amber Alert – Terror on the Highway

For many years I have been a big fan of actor Tom Berenger. I remember the first movie I saw him in…Platoon which is one of my favorite all-time action/military movies. Although I hate the character he played in that movie, I loved him as

Family Movie Night – The Junior Spy Agency on DVD

The Junior Spy Agency on DVDLooking for a new movie to watch for family movie night? If so, let me introduce you to the brand new “The Junior Spy Agency” movie that was released on July 15th, 2014.

Synopsis: Sam Steele and his Junior Spy Agency (Sam, Emma and Doug the Dog) are back on assignment after a long summer of solving crimes. Sam’s history class assignment leads him to his first clues in search of a priceless Russian treasure that’s been smuggled into the U.S. Now he and his agency are pitted against Cash (played by Kevin Sorbo) and a gang of bumbling thieves as they race to recover the treasure before it falls into the wrong hands forever.

Main Characters/Actors: Emma Marsh (played by Katherine McNamara), Sam Steele (played by Jacob Hays) and Cash (played by Kevin Sorbo, plus Doug the Dog!

Our Thoughts: We get tired of constantly watching animated films with our grand daughter so it is nice when we find a good movie that is NOT animated to watch together. This movie is adorable and Doug the Dog is just way TOO cute!

The movie has a very nice story line that holds your interest from start to finish. What is really cool is that you won’t find any violent stuff or nastiness in this family-friendly move at all. The princess is 5 years old and she really enjoyed watching it with us.

The movie has an approximate run time of 94 minutes and that is a great length for a movie to watch with children. The genre is classified as kids/family/adventure but I would definitely throw mystery in there too. It kind of reminds me of those old Hardy Boy & Nancy Drew mysteries but in a much more modern era and definitely better written!

You can learn more about this new movie release by visiting the Inception Media Group web site. You can find it for purchase at Walmart, and on Amazon.

Movie Review: Napoleon Dynamite

Napoleon Dynamite on DVDWhen my daughter was in her late teenage years one of her favorite movies at that time was “Napoleon Dynamite“. Seriously, her friends would all come over to our house and they would watch that movie over and over again! Hubby and I used to look for reasons to “escape” because we got tired of it but those girls loved it!

Back on February 4th, 2014 a 10th Anniversary edition of this movie was released in a blu-ray and DVD combo pack. Included in the combo pack are several bonus features for all of you to enjoy.

Synopsis: Napoleon Dynamite is a new kind of hero, complete with a tight fro, sweet moon boots, and skills that can’t be topped. Napoleon spends his days drawing mythical beasts, duking it out with his brother Kip and avoiding his scheming Uncle Rico. When two new friends enter Napoleon’s life – shy Deb and mustachioed Pedro – the trio launches a campaign to elect Pedro for class president and make the student body’s wildest dreams come true. But if Pedro is to beat stuck-up Summer, Napoleon will have to unleash his secret weapon…

So, like any good mother would do…I gave the DVD to my daughter who is now 28 years old. She invited her girlfriends over for a movie date, pizza and drinks. Now, I admit…I did not go to their little party but after it concluded I got a phone call thanking me for the DVD and that the girls had a great time remembering the good old days. Sweet! I was the hit of their party and I wasn’t even there. Yay!

Seriously though, my daughter states if you love classic comedies that keep you laughing from beginning to end…you would love this movie! She said it is a classic and will always be one of their favorite funny movies!

Movie: Petals on the Wind on Lifetime Movies

Movie Review: The Deep End

During the weekends I love to sit down and watch a good movie. The types of movies that I am drawn to are thrillers, action flicks, war movies and some horror thrown in for good measure. If a movie doesn’t grab my attention within the
