For the past 4 1/2 years I’ve been sharing with all of you various home improvement projects & remodeling projects that we’ve been doing inside and outside our home. I’m happy to report that after all of this time, we are about 75% done with them. Sigh, it’s been a long road, but we are starting to see “light” at the end of the tunnel.
Last summer my husband totally made over our front porch. You can find before & after photos of that right here on the blog. While we have your standard porch lighting out there, we wanted something a bit more cozy. When guests are over to our home, we all tend to congregate out there during the nice weather.
Dorcy, my favorite lighting company had the perfect item for our front porch. Let me introduce you to the LED Patio Deck Lighting System from Dorcy. This is a battery-operated light, like an adjustable floor lamp but can be used anywhere you need it outside. Think: deck, patio, front porch, back porch, outdoor seating area, etc. Yes, you can use it indoors too!

We received a complimentary LED Patio Deck Lighting System for this review and oh my gosh, it has totally exceeded our expectations! We’ve used it on our front porch, on our back deck, around our swimming pool, etc. Any where we need extra lighting when we are sitting outside or entertaining.
It’s light-weight but yet sturdy enough that it doesn’t fall over with a breeze or light wind. Even if it would, it wouldn’t break easily due to the materials it’s made out of. There is a dial up near the lampshade that you use to turn it on & off. In addition, it’s a dial, so you can turn it to adjust the lighting strength, from a little bit of light, to brighter light. We personally like the dim setting, but you can set it at whatever you like.
When we first started using it, I was a little worried that it would attract bugs (I hate bugs!) but I have been pleasantly surprised that the bugs are NOT attracted to it at all. Yes, surprising, but an important feature to have when you’re enjoying time outside at night!
Next, I love that I can carry this light around (it’s light-weight) and don’t have to have hubby move it for me. In addition, it’s super attractive and looks very rich, everyone who has seen it has complimented me on it! I’ve seen something similar at an outdoor specialty store last summer and that store was asking $225 and it wasn’t as nice as this one. I’m so glad I held out because this one is totally worth every dime that Dorcy is selling it for!

How many of you wish that you had more lighting in at least one room in your home? I think most of us can answer yes to that question. Another thing to think about is…how many of you wish you had more lighting in a garden shed or work shed? Again, I can answer yes to that question.
When it comes to adding extra lighting to your home it can be costly to have an electrician come out and run wiring for it. In addition, in some areas it may not be possible to even run the wiring! A good solution to that problem is to go with wireless lighting that use rechargeable batteries. At least, in my opinion.
Let me introduce you to the LEDNut Rechargeable Wireless PIR Motion Sensor LED Night Light that has 3 functioning modes. You can hang this portable, wireless light up on any wall, underneath any cabinet, in any closet, underneath a shelf or in our case…hang it up inside your garden shed!
It comes with a built-in rechargeable lithium battery (no additional batteries required), a battery charger and PC USB port. You can get 4 hours of continuous lighting and 2 months of power when set on the “auto” mode. It has an automatic sensor that will automatically light up if it detects movement with 3 meters and will go out 20 seconds if beyond sensing range.
It’s light-weight and compact, it can be hung up and stuck-on anywhere. It has a built-in magnet, 3M adhesive tape, screws and mounting holes to make installation super easy.
We’ve been wanting to add some lighting inside our one small garden shed that is located near our swimming pool. We like to store our swim toys, water rafts, extra towels, tiki torches, etc. in that small shed, so they are easily accessible when we’re using our pool. We can’t run conventional electrical wiring out to the shed, so this was a great alternative for us.
For picture taking purposes, we temporarily placed the Rechargeable Wireless Motion Sensor LED Night Light on one of our walls inside our home. I wouldn’t of gotten decent photos of it in the garden shed. Once we were done taking the photos, we did move it out into the shed and absolutely love it! It’s just the right amount of light for us to get in/out of the storage shed during the evening & nighttime hours.
We think this product is absolutely fantastic! Matter of fact, we sure could use several more of them around the house! I think they would make great under-the-cabinet light, bathroom nightlights, stair-step lighting, place them in a closet, etc. They are light-weight, slim & compact and you get a decent amount of lighting from just one unit.
